What Matters Most
Happy New Year
Scripture Reading: St. Luke19: 37-40
Worship Song: Bow Down and Worship Him
Meditation:
Should you ask a group of people what matters most in life, the responses would vary based on their perspectives. I'm sure the majority of the responses would be family, relatives, their jobs, relationships, good health, wealth, and/or happiness. But what should matter the most in life is worshiping God in the beauty of holiness with gratitude, humility, reverence, and awe. Worship changes everything. When Paul and Silas were bound in chains behind the prison wall, they worshiped, singing praises unto God. Their singing attracted the attention of heaven, and God intervened on their behalf. As a result of their adoration, the atmosphere shifted—the prison doors suddenly opened, and the chains that bound the prisoners were released (Acts 16). Another example of the result of the power of worship is recorded in 2 Chronicles 20. It is amazing what the power of praise and worship can do.
Worship changes your circumstances, your attitude, and your mindset. When the presence of God dwells in you, you worship God whenever or wherever you go. Everything that has breath should sincerely worship God (Psalm 150) with a grateful heart, giving thanks always. The angels worship God without ceasing, singing, and giving glory, honor, and thanks to the One who lives forever and ever (Rev. 4). They stand around the throne with their faces to the ground and worship God. God is seeking, searching for people who will worship him in spirit and truth. If we refuse to worship God, the stones will cry out. Draw nigh to Jehovah God because now is the time to worship and praise Him.
Let us pray:
Sovereign God, Creator of the universe, I bow in reverence
before you to worship and adore you. Lord God, you deserve all the honor,
glory, and praise. I will exalt you, O God, because there is none like you.
Almighty God, no foreign god, no idol will take your place, because you are
great and greatly to be praised. I will not hold my peace, Lord, because the
rocks shall not cry out on my behalf. I will forever worship you in spirit and
in truth. Lord, all my life, you have been faithful; you have never left nor
forsaken me. I sing praises unto you, O God, for your awesome power and
unconditional love; you are worthy of all praises, O God. Lord, I praise you
because you are my great Physician, my miracle-working God, my healer, my
provider, my protector, and the high priest who became my redeemer. Lord,
because of you, I am no longer enslaved by sin, no longer bound, freed from
bondage, so I will worship and praise you for your infinite greatness and
goodness. In good times and in difficult moments, I will praise you with my
whole heart because you are my Lord and King. Amen.
Have a blessed day. 💕🙏
First thing first. All or nothing for God. Everyone must come to that acknowledgement.
