What's In Your Treasure Box?

Good morning

Scripture reading: Mark 12:41-44

Praise song: Sacrifice of Praise

Meditation:

The account told by Jesus of the poor widow is very intriguing and mind-boggling. Jesus watched as the people placed their money into the offering receptacle. The rich were contributing large sums of money, but among them, a poor widow walked up to the receptacle and placed her few coins in it. Jesus was not fascinated by the amount the rich were offering but by the widow's sacrificial offering of all her livelihood. The rich only gave a portion of their abundance, but the widow gave all she had. The widow was financially broken, but through faith, she made a sacrificial offering that captured the Lord's attention.

This is a lesson to us that it is not the amount that counts, but the willingness to give and the heart that eagerly gives the best unto the Lord. It is the condition of our hearts when we give. Our sacrifices should be presented to God in a manner that will grasp His attention because Almighty God is more concerned with the state of our hearts when we give than He is with the amount that we offer. We should not be like the hypocrites whose activities are done to impress others, to be seen by them, and not to glorify and honor God. Whatever we do should be done to the glory and honor of God, with our whole heart. As we reflect on the account of the widow, may we take into consideration the presentation of our offering unto the Lord.

Let us pray:

Jehovah God, I worship you, O Lord, because you are worthy to be praised. Almighty God, we humbly bow before your throne, O God, with our offering of sacrifice and praises. Father, I pray, O God, that as we offer our sacrifices unto you this morning, it will give off a sweet-smelling aroma that is pleasing to you, Lord. Father, I pray we will not only just offer our gifts as a tradition, as the norm, but that we will offer unto you our best sacrificial offering unto you. Almighty God, I pray that whatever the proportion of our sacrifices, it will not be an ordinary offering but an offering that reflects the true conditions of our hearts. Father, you have sacrificed your only son for the remission of our sins, and so God, we surrender completely our whole heart, mind, body, and soul unto you, Lord. Please take charge of our lives, O God, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee in the name of Jesus Christ our Redeemer. Amen.

Have a peaceful day. Keep safe. ✌👋💕

  1. Let the word of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalm 19: 14 just have yourself a peaceful day. Shalom

  2. It is important to start everything right in order to get right results. No presence of any kind will stand. Our living and our giving must be on the right road. It is only the right and the best must be given to God. Blessings.
