Forgiving Oneself

Meditation:

Oftentimes, the hardest thing for us to do is forgive ourselves for something we have done wrong or a mistake we have made. Instead of freeing our minds by forgiving ourselves and moving on, we dwell on the mistakes we made. We chastise ourselves because we feel we should know better or should have known better. We are more likely to forgive others easier than forgive ourselves. We cannot revoke what is already done, but we can terminate the burden of guilt through confession and forgiveness. It is ok to take accountability for what we have done wrong. It is time we stop beating ourselves up because we make regrettable mistakes. We can be delivered and set free from the power of darkness, the power of our sins, and our mistakes by Jesus Christ, in whom we have redemption through His blood. May I encourage you to move gracefully toward your higher calling? Your destiny does not stop at your mistakes. The sooner you forgive yourself, the sooner you will accomplish what is in store for you. Forgive yourself, be free, and embrace peace within. 

Let us pray:

Jehovah Raah, my redeemer, my restorer, and giver of life, I am amazed that you love me unconditionally. Mighty God, I give you my heart, body, and soul. Mighty God, we sometimes fail to forgive ourselves for the mistakes we have made. Abba Father, we confess that even though we forgave those who trespassed against us, we never forgive ourselves. Father, paralyzed and held hostage by our regrets, we failed to release ourselves from the bitterness of our inaccuracies. God of Mercy and forgiveness, help us to forgive ourselves and free our hearts and minds from misery. Almighty God, let the burden of guilt be released by way of forgiveness through Jesus Christ, our Saviour, Lord, and King. Amen.
