Uncontrolled Addiction
Good morning
Scripture reading: Galatians 5:1
Worship Song: Redeemed
Meditation:
Behavioral science experts believe that any source capable of stimulating a person can be addictive, and whenever a habit changes into an obligation, it can be considered an addiction. If this is truly the case, then many persons are struggling with some form of addiction without knowing or realizing they have an addiction. Some signs that a person might be addicted may include, but are not limited to, unexplained changes in attitude or mood, increased irritability or angry outbursts, changes in demeanor, withdrawal, secretive behavior, and neglecting responsibilities.
Regardless, there is nothing that we
can be addicted to that the Lord cannot deliver us from. Jesus can free us of
any addiction that is preventing us from living a normal life. Jesus came not
only to die for our sins but to bring liberty to the captives and open the
prison doors to release those who are bound by their condition. Stand fast,
therefore, in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not
entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Jesus does not only care about the
spiritual man; he cares about our well-being as well. Almighty God has offered
us new life in Jesus Christ, which we can experience through the vastness of
His love. Come unto me, all that are heavy laden, and I will give you rest,
says the Lord.
Let us pray:
Sovereign God, the chain breaker, I place every individual
who is challenged by addictions before you and speak the name of Jesus over
every addictive spirit. Look with compassion upon us, mighty God, who are
enslaved by addiction. Break the chains of strongholds that bind us, and
release us from every spirit of obsession. Father God, I speak the name of
Jesus over the spirit of addiction to alcohol, gambling, substance abuse,
eating disorders, sinful practices, and every addiction that affects our ability
to function normally. Sovereign God set the captives free to be used as your
vessel to shepherd others to glorify you, my God. Father, break the shackles,
deliver us from the bondage of sin, and set us free in the name of Jesus
Christ, the son of God. Amen.
Peace and love. ✌💕
