Beware of Your Enemies
Good morning
Scripture reading: Nehemiah 4
Praise song: Victory Belongs to Jesus
Meditation:
When Nehemiah received word from his brethren concerning the Jews living in Jerusalem, he fasted and prayed to the God of heaven concerning the afflictions and reproach they were undergoing at the hands of their enemies. Nehemiah was granted vacation leave from his job to go into Jerusalem and rebuild the wall that was broken and the gates that were burned. When Nehemiah and his team arrived in Jerusalem, they were confronted by Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem, who mocked and laughed at them to scorn. However, they were not daunted by their folly, for they had a task to accomplish. When Sanballat realized that Nehemiah had finished building the wall and that the Jews were now safe, he was wroth, took great indignation, and despised the Jews. After the work was completed and there was no more breach left therein, Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem, and the rest of the enemies were displeased. Sanballat then requested to meet with Nehemiah in one of the villages.
Do you realize by now
how the enemy works? He destroys and then mocks and jeers when you are going
through your storms. After you have overcome your struggles and you have
accomplished your task, he tries desperately to become your friend, but only so
he can ruin you. Be careful of the enemies you entertain as friends. They
always have an ulterior motive. Beware!
Let us pray:
My dependable father, thank you for your word of wisdom this morning. Lord, grant us wisdom and discernment in these trying times lest we fall victim to our enemies. Deliver us, O God, out of the hand of our enemies, from the hand of the wicked, the ungodly, and defend us from those that rise against us. Deliver us from the workers of iniquity, and save us from bloody men, O God. Father, how can we escape from the wicked except you abide with us? Almighty God, break and destroy the spirit of Sanballat and Tobiah. Father, may every struggle, every battle we encounter, drive us to our knees, and may we learn to use Nehemiah's fasting, praying, and divine seeking strategies before we venture into the enemy's camp. Father, battles are won, victory is won only through you, and so God, this morning, every battle, every struggle, every problem, every plot, and every scheme of the enemy, I lay them at the altar. Lord, take charge and work your purpose out in the Almighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.
Have a wonderful day. Shalom. ✌💕🙏
God is still God. The same yesterday, today and forever more. Unchangeable, unshakable, unstoppable that is who you are.
ReplyDeleteWe often time change our options, thoughts because we did not have a comparative view of the subject in question. Not so with God, He seeth and knoweth all things, therefore it behoveth us to trust His leading and follow obediently. Life experiences are teaching, let us be a good student. Blessings my wonderful writer.
Peace and love
