Travelling First Class

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. John 14:1-6 Worship song: One Way Flight   Meditation:      Traveling first-class offers a uniquely luxurious experience, characterized by supreme comfort and tranquility that stands apart from standard travel. These flights offer a premium level of service and comfort that the average traveler typically does not experience. We are all required to choose one of the two available first-class flights, which is mandatory for us. There is one first-class flight destined for Paradise, for the born-again, faith-believing, sanctified, and redeemed who accept and acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord. And there is also a first-class flight destined for destruction, Broadway, for those who have rejected Christ, refused to obey his commands, and are living a wanton, reckless life bound by sin. These are the only available options, and they are mandatory flights that we must embark on, one for sinners and one for the redeemed. You are re...

Hidden in the Sand

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Exodus 2:11-15 Worship song: Jesus Forgive Me   Meditation:      It is human instinct to protect their loved ones and defend them from harm and danger in every way possible. On most occasions, people are driven by a spontaneous inclination to act, especially intervening to defend someone from injustice. This was the case with Moses, whose impulsive action led him to act on instinct without considering the consequences of his decision. Moses's attempt to conceal his action reflects the human tendency to cover their wrongdoings and sinful deeds. However, we cannot hide from God, because there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed, nor hidden that shall not be known (Luke 12:2).       David affirms God's omnipresent and omniscient power in Psalm 139. The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch over good and evil (Proverbs 15:3). He that hides his sins shall not prosper, but whoever chooses ...

Through It All

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Psalm 27 Worship song: Through it all   Meditation:      The psalmist, David, was not free from trouble and haters. During his life, he had many enemies. Many rose against him, including King Saul, whom he had helped to defeat the Philistine giants who fought against Israel. David was not afraid of the host that encamped around and against him, for he knew the God whom he served. His journey was hampered by numerous trials, yet his unwavering faith in God allowed him to persevere through every tribulation and emerge victorious over his adversaries. Through it all, David trusted God and built a relationship with Him. Through it all, David learned to depend upon God and trust Him wholeheartedly. David's only desire was to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of his life. He trusted God and believed that He would shield him from all his enemies.       By fully entrusting our struggles to God, we can ri...

Walking in God's will

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: 1 Peter 5:1-4 Praise song: Spirit Lead Me   Meditation:      Arthur Blessitt, a travelling evangelist born in Mississippi, is well known as the preacher who carried a cross through every nation of the world. Through many dangers, toils, and snares, the grace of God kept him. Through difficult times and the hottest battlefield, he held on to faith and trusted God to lead him safely. He went on the mission, determined to spread the gospel, leading souls to Calvary. He walked through lonely deserts, across hills and valleys, teaching the will of God as he bore the weight of the heavy wooden cross.       Listening to this inspiring account provides a true reflection of what it means to genuinely follow and obey the Lord's command, to accept his will, and to trust Him wholeheartedly. It offers a clearer understanding of the essence of trusting God and walking by faith. Blessitt obeyed the call to witness to the...

Can't Be Canceled or Rescheduled

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Hebrews 9: 27-28 Worship song: Death Was Arrested   Meditation:      An appointment is a scheduled, formal meeting with specific details determined by the purpose of the gathering. Not all scheduled appointments are kept; some are canceled, while others are postponed. The decision to cancel or reschedule often depends on the nature or urgency of the subject matter. Scheduling appointments helps maintain commitments, but there are those people who sometimes reschedule appointments for their convenience.   Nevertheless, there is an appointment that is certain for all people. We cannot reschedule, cancel, or ignore it because we do not have the power to control its existence.       Death is a fixed appointment for all humans. We are appointed once to die, but after death comes the judgment. There are no exception and no exemption. Death is no respecter of persons; be prepared and ready, for there is no r...

You Shall Be Free Indeed

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. John 8:31-36 Worship song: I'm Free   Meditation:      Isaiah, the messianic prophet, prophesied that the spirit of the Lord would be upon him who would be anointed to preach to the meek, proclaim freedom to the captives, and liberate those who are bound in prisons. Jesus declared the prophecy of Isaiah fulfilled immediately after reading the scripture recorded in Isaiah 61 to the Nazarenes (as recounted in Luke 4:18-21 of the Bible). In doing so, he revealed himself as the promised Messiah, the one designated to deliver and rescue his people from spiritual bondage and the oppression of sin.       Jesus came as the perfect, sinless Son of God to save humanity from the power of evil and bring us back to God. He took on a human body without any sin or flaw, like a pure and spotless sacrifice, to rescue us from being trapped by Satan. Through Jesus Christ, all sinners are granted the same privil...

Preparing for a Race

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Hebrews 12:1-3 Worship song: I Will Run to You   Meditation:      Winning a world championship is considered one of the highest achievements in athletics. Every athlete who competes in a race desire to win a gold medal and also to become the world's fastest champion. Athletes competing against equally motivated and determined runners must push themselves beyond their normal limit to obtain victory. To have a fair chance of winning the race requires determination, commitment, vigorous training, sacrifices, endurance, patience, and discipline. As children of God, we are running in a noncompetitive race, and the challenge is to pursue what God wants for us rather than what we want for ourselves. We have the responsibility to press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly reward.       Like the Apostle Paul, we should be able to declare we have fought a good fight, we have finished the race, an...

Earnest Seekers

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Jeremiah 29:11-14 Worship song: Seek Ye First   Meditation:      By our nature, humans pursue what satisfies them, and these pursuits show what our hearts truly desire. Earthly pleasures and possessions are merely self-centered pursuits. Our primary focus should be seeking God's kingdom; doing so ensures that all our needs will be provided by His divine will. To seek the Lord means to actively pursue a personal relationship with him, which involves learning from his word and living in obedience to his commands and precepts out of love and faith. When you seek the Lord earnestly, you set your mind and heart on God, not on the corporate world. Those who genuinely search for the Lord are people who consistently pursue virtuous qualities like righteousness, holiness, meekness, and goodness.       The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went aw...

Do You Have Enough Fuel?

Image
Good Morning Scripture reading: Matthew 25: 1-13 Mediation song: Give Me Oil in My Lamp   Meditation:      Have you ever experienced the frustration of your vehicle running out of fuel, leaving you stranded on the roadway? Has a power outage ever interrupted a crucial moment, only for you to discover the generator is also out of fuel? Anyone who experiences low resources understands what it means to be in a state of unpreparedness.       The bridesmaids waited to meet the bridegroom, but he was delayed longer than they anticipated. When the bridegroom arrived at midnight, the ten virgins woke to prepare their lamps, but the foolish five discovered they lacked enough oil for the long wait and missed the opportunity to go with the bridegroom. The five wise virgins rejoice because they have sufficient oil. The oil in our lamp represents the presence of the Holy Spirit within us, and we are the lamp in which the Holy Spirit dwells. The wise vi...

A State of Contentment

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Job 1:13-22 Worship song: Give Me Jesus   Meditation: (repost)      What would you do, and how would you cope if you lost all your earthly possessions and all that you have accomplished in one day? Few people can truly say they have experienced a loss as profound and devastating as that described in the Book of Job. The mere thought of losing one's entire life's work, financial security, and cherished belongings is truly terrifying. Upon learning he had lost everything, Job demonstrated his grief by tearing his robe and shaving his head, and then fell to the ground to worship God, acknowledging that all he had was from God and would be returned to Him. The fact that Job did not blame or curse God but instead bowed down and worshipped him speaks highly of his faith, trust, love, and the relationship he had with God.       Job knew that in this world he would encounter hardship, trials, and tribulations...

Playing With Fire

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: 1 Corinthians 3:11-17 Worship song: Fires   Meditation:      Young children are fascinated by and naturally drawn to the mesmerizing glow that ignites from a lit match, and the glow that radiates from it captures their attention. They are unaware of the potential danger and or damage that can occur from its inappropriate misuse. A single spark can kindle a fire, and a fire has unlimited potential. Devoured by curiosity, children often ignore the stern warning not to touch or play with fire, but they only need to be burned once to learn not to get close to an open flame. Playing with fire can be fatal, for if you play with fire, you will certainly get burned.       No one can take fire in his bosom or walk on fire and not get burned. The proverb implies that one cannot indulge in sin or dangerous situations without suffering the consequences, unless divinely protected.Exposing oneself to the potential for s...

That Little Fox

Image
Good Morning Scripture reading: Song of Solomon 2:15 Worship song: Here's My Heart Lord   Meditation:      King Solomon warns us to catch the little foxes before they ruin the vines that have tender grapes. Little foxes are destructive to the vines because they attack the roots and stems, which are the lifeline of the plant. The little foxes are the seemingly insignificant sins that burrow into our lives that we refuse to shun. The little foxes are the seemingly minor issues that we disregard, the deceptions and lies that we accept, which appear harmless yet have the potential to wreak havoc on our spiritual well-being and relationship with God.       When we consistently disregard these habitual sins, they can lead to major sins, which will ultimately harm our character and hinder spiritual growth. A little spark kindled a fire; likewise, little willful sin defiles the conscience, so beware of the little foxes lurking in your vineyard (...

No Foreign God

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Judges 10 Praise song: You deserve the glory   Meditation:      The children of Israel constantly trespassed against the Lord God by worshipping and bowing to false gods. Their desire to serve other gods kindled God's wrath against them. They disobey God's commandments and then appeal for mercy and forgiveness. God's help was conditional on the Israelites' obedience. Each time they rebelled and turned to other gods, He handed them over to their enemies. However, whenever they humbly repented and turned back to Him, He forgave them and sent a deliverer to rescue them. Jehovah God is a compassionate, merciful, loving, and forgiving God, but that does not mean we should blatantly sin against him.       The same command that applies to the Israelites still applies to us today. We are to put away the foreign gods that are among us, fear the Lord, and serve Him sincerely. Anything we idolize and worship other th...

The Spirit of Fear

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Philippians 4:6-7 Worship song: Fear is a Liar   Meditation:      Every day, we confront fear, and if we let it overwhelm us, it can rob us of our joy and peace. Fear is defined as the emotional response to an imminent or perceived threat of danger, pain, or evil, frequently resulting in feelings of worry and discomfort. This fear, which causes people to doubt God's power and faithfulness, is not from God but is considered a human limitation. God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-control. Fear will keep us from fulfilling our responsibilities and prevent us from doing the will of God.       The word of God reminds us in Isaiah 41:10 to fear not and be not dismayed, for God is with us; he will strengthen, help, and uphold us with his righteous right hand. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. Fearing man is a dangerous trap, but when you fear the Lord, you ar...

Recipient of HIs Grace

Image
Good morning Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God. 1 John 5:5   Worship song: Forever at Your Feet   Testimony:      It is a core Biblical Christian belief that salvation is accessible to anyone who professes faith in Jesus as the Son of God and calls upon His name. Being born of God signifies a spiritual rebirth, a transformation that aligns believers with God's will and empowers them to overcome worldly influences. I have been empowered by God's grace and mercy through my belief in Jesus Christ and I am grateful to have found strength through my faith and feel mighty blessed by his divine grace and mercy.       I once walked the path where you are treading, loitering in dangerous places, and mistakenly believing it brought fulfillment, only to discover my brokenness and need for a savior. I was disobedient, stiff-necked, and carefree, doing that which I desired, but now I s...

Your Divine Purpose

Image
Good morning Day of prayer   Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 7:21   Worship song: Not My Will   Let Us Pray:      Sovereign God, clothed in splendor and majesty, I honor, worship, and adore you, O Lord, as my Father and King. Almighty God, I seek your divine intervention as I acknowledge that I have failed to hearken to your will daily. Almighty God, I humbly beseech you to restrain our self-will, aligning our lives with Your divine purpose. Free us, O God, from self-will, and let your will reside in us; let your will be done on earth as it is done in heaven, mighty God. Lord, we seek not to be conformed to this world, but to discern your will and what is good, acceptable, and well-pleasing in your sight.       Lord God, take command over every unfamiliar spirit and every spirit that is not authorized by ...

Position Yourself for Change

Image
Good morning Scripture reading:  St. Luke 19:1-10 Hymn: Dear Refuge of My Weary Soul   Meditation:      The passage Zacchaeus is portrayed as a wealthy chief tax collector among the publicans, who desired to see Jesus Christ.   Zacchaeus was physically wealthy but spiritually bankrupt. He must have experienced an inner void, prompting him to seek spiritual refuge. There was a multitude assembled, waiting to see Jesus, but Zacchaeus, short in status, pushed his way through. It is possible he was ridiculed by onlookers as he climbed the tree to see Jesus, but he didn't care, for he knew he was broken on the inside.       After Zacchaeus communed with Jesus Christ, his concept of life changed. Jesus offered him salvation, and in return, Zacchaeus offered to restore fourfold what he had taken through false accusations and offer to assist individuals with financial challenges. Zacchaeus actively pursued Jesus because he desired a pr...

Not From Human

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Galatians 1 Worship song: Show Me Your Ways   Meditation:      Paul, in his writing, makes it clear that his preaching, ministry, and teaching were not ordained by man; they did not originate with man nor come through man. He was anointed and appointed by Jesus Christ as an apostle to preach the gospel; therefore, he could boast that he did not please men. He experienced a profound transformation, shifting from a brutal persecutor of Christians to an ardent minister of the Gospel. His conversion from ancestral beliefs to Christianity was a divine intervention that led him to preach the very gospel he once opposed.       Apostle Paul did not learn about Christ from any other apostle or institution; instead, he received his understanding of the gospel directly through a divine revelation from Jesus Christ. His knowledge was not derived from other apostles or human teachings, but from a direct, personal encou...

How Deep Are Your Roots

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. Matthew 13:3-9 Worship song: Rooted and Grounded   Meditation:      In the parable of the Sower, Jesus gave four different scenarios: the seed that fell on the wayside, the seed that fell on stony ground, the seed that fell among thorns, and the seed that fell on good ground. This parable represents the Sower, the seed, and the soil. The Sower is the person proclaiming the word, the seed represents the word of God, and the soil represents the heart of those who hear the word of God. The seed that fell on the good ground represents the believers who hear the word, accept it, and bring forth fruit. The believers who are firmly anchored in Christ are like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither; whatever they do will prosper. Your acceptance of God's word is determined by the condition of your heart.       Those who are not firmly rooted endure,...

Walking By Faith

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Hebrews 11 Praise song: Come This Far by Faith   Meditation:      Faith is the firm belief in something for which there may be no tangible proof. According to biblical teachings, faith is the assurance of what we hope for and the conviction of what we do not see. It is trusting and having confidence in God, believing that He will fulfill His promises. In Hebrews 11, the Old Testament patriarch of faith received a good report by trusting God's promises. The moment we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, our faith journey begins. Faith is fundamental to the Christian life, for without faith it is impossible to please God.       It is necessary for our spiritual journey that we develop a strong relationship with God by trusting His plans and believing in His promises. Faith is an unwavering assurance that motivates resolute action, undeterred by hardship. Abraham believed God's promise and it was count...

The Bread That Sustains

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. John 6:35-40 Worship song: Bread of Life   Meditation:      The bread that Jesus offers us cannot be purchased with money, nor is it found in a bakery. No earthly ingredients combined can produce this bread. This bread is not a product of earthly means but a divine provision symbolizing Jesus Christ himself. Speaking to the multitude and his disciples, Jesus boldly identifies himself as the bread of life. He said, I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man partakes of this bread, he shall live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. Jesus is the bread of life, sustaining and nourishing us spiritually.      Jesus promised that those who come to him, their spiritual hunger will be satisfied, and their thirsty soul will be quenched. Incline your ear and come unto me, says the Lord; hear, and your soul shall live, and I will make an ev...

Humble Beginning

Image
Good morning Scripture Reading: Matthew 18:1-5 Worship Song: Cry For Humility   Meditation: Today, we reflect on a pivotal moment when the disciples questioned who was greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. Seeking clarity, they approached Jesus. In response, Jesus emphasized that unless one is converted and becomes humble like a little child, he will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus used two essential phrases to explain to the disciples the distinction required to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus made it clear that one must be converted and be humble as a little child. Conversion involves a change in thinking and desire, moving away from worldly pursuits and aligning with God's will. And to be humble is to display meekness or modesty in behavior, attitude, or spirit, not arrogance or pride. When we are truly humble, we do not boast about our possessions but rather boast about our relationship with the Lord God. When we are converted, we are no longer conformed to the thi...

Stand Your Ground

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Ephesians 6:10-18 Praise song: Stand   Meditation: Those who commit to following Jesus Christ should anticipate ongoing opposition and spiritual attacks, as a believer will never be entirely free from the enemy's interference during their time in this life. The enemy knows you have a good future with God, but he tries to make you focus on current problems to make you afraid. When you are focused on the bad, you can't see the good things God has planned. The enemy wants you to dwell on negative circumstances to prevent you from seeing and trusting God's blessings.       To overcome fear, you must deliberately choose to focus on God's promises instead of the problems. Do not succumb to the enemy's plans. Stand firm, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye ...

Yield Not To Temptation

Image
Good morning Scripture Reading: Proverbs 4:14-19 Worship Song: Lord, I need you   Meditation:      A pothole is a depression in an asphalt pavement that varies in size and shape. If these cracks in the concrete are ignored, they may develop into bigger gaps, endangering the lives of pedestrians and motorists. Sin is like potholes: what seems like a little sin will eventually turn into habitual sin, until it reaches the point where we can no longer control what we do or say. If we do not avoid sin, we will soon find ourselves on the bumpy, rugged road, facing potential dangers. The temptation that leads to sin is often undetected because it is appealing and enticing.       The little sins we commit damage our minds and will eventually have serious implications for our spiritual well-being. We can only avoid sin and the desire to sin if we choose to follow the path that leads to righteousness. All the help we need to overcome trials a...

Goodness Demonstrated

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Galatians 5: 22-23 Worship Song: God Is Good   Meditation:      Doing good demonstrates our love, compassion, and kindness. Goodness is one of the essential fruits of the spirit recorded in Galatians 5, which every child of God should seek to obtain. Goodness results in a life characterized by deeds motivated by righteousness and holiness. Doing good demonstrates virtue and a desire to bless others; but salvation itself is a gift from God received through faith, not earned by our actions, which removes any grounds for boasting. Whatsoever we do, we should do it heartily as unto the Lord and not unto men, knowing that of the Lord we shall receive the reward of the inheritance for serving the Lord.       Though we are not saved by goodness, God expects us to do good to others, so let us not be weary in well-doing, for in due time we shall reap if we do not faint. While we have the opportunity, let us do...

The God of the Impossible

Image
Good morning. Scripture reading: Luke 1:26-38 Worship Song: He Is Able   Meditation:      We often respond to life's challenges with immediate worry and fear, instead of trusting in divine deliverance, despite our faith that our all-powerful God is in control. When fear and doubt occur, remember that we serve a God who calms the stormy wind, helps the Israelites cross the Red Sea on dry ground, delivers them from captivity, opens the wombs of the barren, allows the elderly to conceive, causes a virgin to become pregnant, and performs wondrous miracles. The impossible for humans is possible for God.       God told Jeremiah, 'Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh; is there anything too hard for me?' The same phrasing was used in Genesis 18:14 when the Lord appeared to Sarah and Abraham. This message is a reassurance to believers that God is all-powerful and capable of overcoming any difficulty. "Is there a problem you think too diffi...

A Thirst for Righteousness

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Romans 6:11-23 Worship song: Grace Greater Than Our Sin   Meditation:      At the beginning of the chapter, the Apostle Paul refuted the misconception that salvation is by grace through faith. Based on his rebuttal, it is clear that the saints were disputing about sin, salvation, law, and grace. Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. Although the grace of God abounds with those who yield to righteousness, and his grace is greater than all our sins, we should not remain as servants to sin. Just as one person's disobedience made many people sinners, one person's obedience made many people righteous. When we were controlled by sin, we were not free to pursue righteousness; however, by becoming servants of God, we are now freed from sin's control.       Should the believers who wholeheartedly accepted the doctrine that was delivered to us continue to yield to ungodliness? Should sin have ...

The Aftermath

Image
Day of prayer Prayer of Repentance  Casting all your care upon him; for he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 Worship song: He'll Do It Again   Let us pray: Heavenly Father, clothed in splendor and majesty, we exalt you, O Lord, for you alone are worthy to receive glory, honor, and praise. Lord God, we acknowledge your sovereignty and control over all things, and so we bow in reverence before you, singing, "Holy, holy is Lord God Almighty. We thank you, Most Holy God, for extending grace and mercy unto the just and the unjust. We are grateful for the opportunity you have granted us, allowing us time to repent and set our house in order.       Merciful God, we admit that we have forsaken your commandments and have participated in unholy things. We repent of our idol worship and carnal mindedness. Have mercy on us, O God, according to Your unfailing love; according to Your great compassion, blot out our transgressions. Wash away all our iniquity and clean...
