Earnest Seekers
Good morning
Scripture reading: Jeremiah 29:11-14
Worship song: Seek Ye First
Meditation:
By our nature, humans pursue what satisfies them, and these pursuits show what our hearts truly desire. Earthly pleasures and possessions are merely self-centered pursuits. Our primary focus should be seeking God's kingdom; doing so ensures that all our needs will be provided by His divine will. To seek the Lord means to actively pursue a personal relationship with him, which involves learning from his word and living in obedience to his commands and precepts out of love and faith. When you seek the Lord earnestly, you set your mind and heart on God, not on the corporate world. Those who genuinely search for the Lord are people who consistently pursue virtuous qualities like righteousness, holiness, meekness, and goodness.
The kingdom of
heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great
value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it. When you seek and
find the Lord, your life will be transformed; you will be redeemed, and no
longer will you be held captive, bound by Satan's bondage, or having a craving
desire for the things that cannot satisfy you spiritually. You will experience
God's presence and walk in his blessings. If you seek the Lord earnestly with
all your heart and with all your soul, you will find him. God is a rewarder of
those who diligently seek him. Now is the accepted time to devote your heart
and soul to seeking the Lord, your God, while grace abounds.
Let us pray:
Almighty God, I come before you in humility, seeking the
fulfillment that earthly wealth and carnal desires cannot provide. My deepest
desire is to place my trust entirely in Your providence and pursue You with my
whole being, secure in the knowledge that my destiny rests in Your hands. Lord,
I ask that You would conquer my pride, remove my self-willpower, and make my
heart Your dwelling place. Cleanse me of all impurities and unrighteousness,
and turn my attention away from the things of this world to solely focus on
You, O God. Let my whole life be to seek after you only, Lord, while you may be
found and the grace of Almighty God abounds. Teach me, O God, to set my
affections on things above, not on earthly things, through Jesus Christ. Amen.
Have a blessed day.
