Playing With Fire

Good morning

Scripture reading: 1 Corinthians 3:11-17

Worship song: Fires

Meditation:

Young children are fascinated by and naturally drawn to the mesmerizing glow that ignites from a lit match, and the glow that radiates from it captures their attention. They are unaware of the potential danger and or damage that can occur from its inappropriate misuse. A single spark can kindle a fire, and a fire has unlimited potential. Devoured by curiosity, children often ignore the stern warning not to touch or play with fire, but they only need to be burned once to learn not to get close to an open flame. Playing with fire can be fatal, for if you play with fire, you will certainly get burned.

No one can take fire in his bosom or walk on fire and not get burned. The proverb implies that one cannot indulge in sin or dangerous situations without suffering the consequences, unless divinely protected.Exposing oneself to the potential for sin and being ignorant of its consequences is like striking a match. A final judgment awaits everyone, where actions will be exposed and tested. This test will reveal whether a person's life was built on a durable foundation of truth or a fragile one of deceit. Therefore, let us be more vigilant and strive for a life of holiness.

Let us pray:

King of all kings and Lord of all Lords, clothed in splendor and majesty, I glorify you for you are worthy to be praised. God of a second chance, you promised not to despise a contrite heart. Humbled, we lie prostrate before you, confessing that we have been weighed in the scales and found wanting. Father, forgive us, for we have allowed the glamour and the glitter of the world to entice us. We pray, O God, that you ignite our hearts and set them ablaze for your glory. Almighty God, there are times when we feel distant from Your divine presence, drawn away by our own lust and enticement. God, our spirits are battered and bruised, and we come to you, who are a refuge in our trouble, to protect our hearts and minds as they have drifted far from you. Forgive us, O Lord, and turn our wandering hearts to you. Wash us, and purify our hearts and minds through Jesus Christ, our helper. Amen.

Wishing you a blessed day. Shalom. ✌💕🙏
