Forgive and Be Forgiven
Good morning
Scripture reading: Matthew 18:21-35
Worship song: Welcome into This Place
We can be praising and glorifying God yet harboring an unforgiving spirit that obstructs our thoughts and hearts. Unforgiveness is a barrier that impedes our spiritual growth and blocks our connection with God. It is the deliberate choice to hold on to anger by refusing to forgive someone who upset you, betrayed you, or broke your trust. There must not be any storage room in our hearts for unforgiveness to dwell. We cannot walk according to the will of God if we refuse to forgive. If we want God to forgive us when we sin against him, we must forgive those who trespass against us. We cannot go to God with an unforgiving heart, seeking pardon with the expectation to be forgiven when we ignore the plea to show mercy and pardon to those who trespassed against us.
Though it might be difficult to forgive those who wrong us, as
children of God, we should not drench ourselves in the spirit of unforgiveness
but seek to release our hearts and be at peace spiritually. Scripture reminds
us that if we do not forgive those who trespass against us, neither will our
Heavenly Father forgive us, but if we forgive men their trespasses, our
Heavenly Father will also forgive us. Our willingness to forgive others, as
well as ourselves, will bring peace to our lives. Daily, we sin against
Almighty God, and when we pray, we expect Almighty God to forgive us, but only
if we learn to forgive others; the Lord will forgive us also.
Let us pray:
Merciful, compassionate, forgiving God, too long we hold on
to the hurt and pain that others have caused us. Almighty God, I beseech you to
relieve us of this hurt and pain and fill us with your peace. Purify our hearts
of bitter woes, O God, cleanse our minds, and fill us with your love and peace.
Remove the stony hearts, Lord, and give us hearts of compassion and mercy.
Father God, help us to walk humbly and be at peace with ourselves and those who
hurt us. And while we do so, Lord, may we exercise wisdom, trusting you only, O
God, knowing that the evil days are at hand. Almighty God, vanquish every
negative word spoken over our lives that we have accepted as the truth and
allow us to embrace and accept the word of God as a promise of fulfillment
through Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen. (Child of the King).
Have a peaceful day. ✌🙏

ReplyDeleteWe can open up a free way to God by first asking for forgiveness and forgiving others. It is easy with God's help but without, it is like a bolder in the road that only heavy equipment can move, that heavy equipment is the power of the Holy Spirit.
ReplyDeleteNo one can live by themselves or for themselves. We are given relationship, families, communities so as to perfect God's purpose for our lives. We must live together for our better good because isolation will do more harm than good.
You are my sister and I am your brother so let us take each other by the hand so we can stand. Shalom.
