The Gall and The Ripped Veil

Scripture reading: Matthew 27:45-51

Meditation:

    One can only imagine the horrendous torture meted out to Jesus by the very people whom he came to serve. His parched throat and open wounds are evidence of the trauma and agony he endured. He was offered vinegar mingled with gall to numb the pain, but He refused it because He wanted to experience every single moment appointed to him by his Father. Vinegar mixed with gall is like a tranquilizer used by the Romans during execution to sedate those who are being crucified. 

    Just before Jesus took his last breath, he was again offered vinegar, not from a cup but a sponge, which he drank and then cried out with a loud voice; it is finished. Immediately after Jesus' crucifixion, the veil was torn from top to bottom, marking the beginning of the new covenant established through Jesus Christ and the ending of the old covenant, which was based on rituals and sacrifices. The torn veil gives authority and power to every believer, granting direct access to God through faith in Jesus. The torn grants us direct access to God through Jesus Christ, terminating rituals and sacrifices. It also signifies the atonement for the sins of humanity, making it possible for believers to have a relationship and personal encounter with God. 

    The choice is ours to accept Jesus Christ, who paid a horrible price so we could be set free.

Let us pray:

    Yeshua, Emmanuel, God with us, clothed in splendor and majesty, I am grateful to you, mighty one, for the privilege granted to all believers through your sacrificial offering so we can have a personal relationship with You, Lord. Father, realizing how privileged we are, we give you thanks, O God, that we do not have to slay any lamb, mark the lintel with blood, or go before an earthly priest to seek forgiveness. Father, I am grateful that the veil was torn in two, granting us access to the throne room of grace. May we not take this opportunity of redemption for granted, but live daily, praising and worshipping you with sincere hearts of gratitude. Thank you, Lord, for liberating and sparing us from the wrath and the punishment of sin. Lord, I lift up those who are still procrastinating and pray, O God, that they will consider their ways and turn to you while grace still abounds. May they feel the warmth of your love, surrender, and acknowledge that their life is meaningless without you. Disrobe them of their worldly garment, O God, and clothe them with your robe of righteousness. Heavenly Father, I give you thanks for restoring, cleansing, and purifying our hearts and minds through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

    What a price that was paid for our freedom. It is ungrateful for anyone not to think on it daily as a reminder. It is easy for anyone when their problems are solved to forget the problem solver. Less we forget, lead us to calvary.

The Death of The Wicked

Nevertheless, there is a difference between the death of the sinner and the death of the redeemed. Good morning Scripture reading: St. Luke 15:1-7 Worship song: Ninety and Nine   Meditation:      After an extensive search for a misplaced document that held significant importance, I experienced an overwhelming amount of frustration and anxiety. Finally, I decided to discontinue the search and reluctantly accepted the possibility of its loss, though I remain hopeful.
