My Trust Is In You

Good morning

Scripture reading: Genesis 32:3-12

Worship song: Fear Is a Liar

Meditation:

Fear can often paralyze us, triggering the fight-or-flight response and leading to impulsive decisions. This emotional state can cloud our judgment and hinder our engagement in daily activities. The biblical figure Jacob, for instance, faced significant fear regarding his brother, Esau. In a proactive move to appease his brother, Jacob selected valuable gifts to present to Esau, believing that this gesture would help soften his brother's heart and restore their relationship.

Moreover, Jacob took precautionary measures by dividing his family and assets, hoping if Esau attacked one group, the other might survive. However, amid his fear, Jacob momentarily overlooked the covenant God made with him that he would never leave him until he fulfilled all the promises he had made.

Similarly, we can sometimes lose sight of the promises and power of God in our own lives. While a common idiom theory suggests that we do not put all our eggs in one basket, as faith-believing people of God, we choose to entrust everything in God's capable hands, confident of his divine plan. We trust God with everything, not just some things.

Let's pray.

Heavenly Father of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, we put all our trust in you. We surrender to your will and to your ways, knowing, O God, that you plan to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. Almighty God, we draw strength from the assurance that you promised to be with us, never leaving nor forsaking us. We give thanks for your comforting word that assures us you will strengthen, help, and uphold us with your righteous right hand. We are grateful for your assurance of protection, guidance, blessings, and faithfulness. Thank you for your unmerited grace and for fulfilling our needs according to your abundant provision through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Have a wonderful day. 💞🙏

  1. I love your prospective on today's devotion. I oftentimes ask myself many times over. At what point will I trust and don't fear tomorrow or what point will I see the progress I want to see in my life. This is the conclusion I come to. Make plans for my life, keep trusting and serving, set time-line but remember God's plan does not have to meet our time-line, wait patiently, in other words keep serving, He will surprise us when we think not. God cares and He works for us. Bless His Holy name. Shalom. 🙏🙏🙏💪🙏
