How Genuine Is Your Love?
Good morning
Scripture reading: St. John 21:15-22
Worship song: Modern Times
Meditation:
How deeply do you love Jesus and desire to fulfill his will? Are you willing to place your love for Jesus above your job, worldly possessions, and everything else? Jesus posed a profound question to Peter not just once but three times. This interaction was pivotal, as it allowed Jesus to reaffirm Peter's love and reestablish his ministerial role as a shepherd to his people. Jesus was impressing upon Peter the significance of his new role, emphasizing the vital importance of caring for the flock of Christ.
Even though Peter
denied Jesus three times, that did not alter the love of Jesus Christ for
Peter, nor did Jesus love him any less. For any person to serve in the capacity
of ministry effectively, they must have agape love, compassion, mercy, a caring
heart towards others, and abundant love for Jesus Christ. Only then will they
be able to tend and care for the well-being of those whom they are called to
serve? This emotional and redeeming interaction Jesus had with Peter is a
reminder of our Savior’s compassion and deep love for us.
Let us pray:
Sovereign God, the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, I worship and adore you, O God, for you are the great I AM. Almighty God, we boldly express our love for you and commitment to follow you daily. We seek your divine guidance to help us align our lives with your will. In the face of adversity and opposition, when our faith is tested, grant us the strength to remain steadfast, knowing who we serve and who we are. Heavenly Father, may we not dwell on our weaknesses, but instead rely on you to intercede so our faith may not fail.
As we draw nigh to thee, our Master, be our guide, our keeper,
our unwavering help, and our shepherd. May we honor you daily with genuine
hearts and not merely with our words. Bless us with kindness, mercy, love,
compassion, and peace that surpasses all understanding. Instill in us a heart
like yours, O God, so the light of Jesus Christ can radiate through us, drawing
others to glorify you. May our lives serve as vessels to advance the kingdom
for the glory of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Blessings and love. Shalom. 💕🙏
Jesus Christ must, must have priority in our lives. The adversary would want one to think otherwise but No! No! Jesus now more than ever. Run with Jesus all the time. Stay strong.
