Spiritual Junk Food
Good morning
Scripture reading: 1 Timothy 4:1-6
Worship song: Come Holy Spirit, I Need You
Topic: Spiritual Junk Food
Most of us choose foods based on taste rather than what is good for us. Even with widespread knowledge of the health risks, consumers frequently choose taste and convenience over nutrition, driving high sales for indulgent fast food despite the availability of healthier alternatives. Junk foods are preferable to many despite their failure to support a healthy, balanced lifestyle. Just as physical, unhealthy food harms the body, the content we consume through media, reading, and environmental exposure acts as spiritual junk food that damages our souls.
You can cultivate a spiritually healthy
diet by immersing in God's word, and guard your heart by consciously feeding
your spirit with truth, wisdom, and obedience to God. It requires persistence
and commitment in prayer and worship. Being spiritually mature requires
changing our mindset and training ourselves to become the person God wants us
to be. Continue in the doctrine, read the word of God daily, and pray without
ceasing, for so doing you shall save yourself and those that hear you from
consuming spiritually unhealthy junk food.
Let us pray:
Sovereign God, holy and righteous, I magnify and worship
you, my Heavenly King. My dependable Father and God, please examine my life, my
thoughts, my heart, and my mind, and flush my system of every unhealthy
spiritual junk food that I have consumed. Almighty God, as I feast and meditate
upon your words, and as I surrender to worship you, open my spiritual eyes to recognize
the lies that I have accepted as the truth. Almighty God, I pray that as I
dwell in your presence, I will daily consume all that is beneficial for
spiritual health. Father, allow transformation to gradually take place as I
dine at your banquet table. Heavenly Father, I ask that You consume me with the
fire of the Holy Spirit. Breathe Your divine life into me, anointing my inner
being with purity and filling me until I overflow with Your presence, in the
mighty name of Jesus Christ, my Redeemer and Savior. Amen.
Wishing you a wonderful day. 👏💗🙏
