A Jealous Eye
Good morning
Scripture reading: 1 Samuel 18
Worship song: This Is Amazing Grace
Meditation:
King Saul's expression of love for David turned into a jealous rage, triggered when the people applauded David publicly for his victorious defeat of the Philistines. Driven by an envious and malicious spirit, King Saul turned against David, viewing his servant as a direct threat to his throne. Despite recognizing that God had shifted His favor to David, a fearful and jealous Saul made repeated, failed attempts to murder his successor, fueled by intense rage.
When the enemy shall come in like a flood,
the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. The Lord will
preserve the souls of his people and protect us from all evil. No force can
overpower those shielded by the Almighty; in times of disaster, the believer
rests in divine safety. Do not fear your enemies for if God is on your side, no
one can truly stand against you. Humble yourself in the presence of the Lord
and He will lift you up. (James 4:10)
Let us pray:
Everlasting Father, I am grateful for your inspired word
which serves as a source of divine wisdom and truth. Almighty God, I release
anxiety and fear to you, confident in your sovereign, loving authority over my
life. Examine my heart, O God, purify and cleanse me with hyssop. Protect my
heart from the spirit of envy and jealousy. Root out, O God, any resentment in
my heart, replacing it with unconditional love, appreciation, and contentment.
Give me a heart like Jonathan’s, to love and support others, building strong,
godly friendships. Deliver me from my enemies, O God, and protect me from those
who rise up against me. Shield me from those who wish me harm and grant me your
divine protection in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Wishing you a blessed day. 💕👏🙏
