A Thirst for Righteousness

Good morning

Scripture reading: Romans 6:11-23

Worship song: Grace Greater Than Our Sin

Meditation:

At the beginning of the chapter, Apostle Paul refuted the misconception that salvation is achieved through grace by faith. Based on his rebuttal, it is clear that the saints were disputing about sin, salvation, law, and grace. Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. Although the grace of God abounds with those who yield to righteousness, and his grace is greater than all our sins, we should not remain as servants to sin. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Before, you were enslaved to sin, and righteousness was not a factor in your life. Now, freed from sin, you have become servants to God. Should the believers who obeyed from the heart the doctrine that was delivered to us continue to yield our members to ungodliness? Shall sin have dominion over us? Absolutely not. God's grace is greater than all our sins. And though God's grace is greater than our sins, we should not yield to sin because the wages of sin are death. A life of habitual sin can keep us captive to unrighteousness. Therefore, if you are freed from sin, seek not to be entangled, and be yoked in bondage to iniquity and uncleanness. But seek rather to yield your members unto righteousness. Sin is unacceptable because it destroys holiness and destroys our connection to a Holy God.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, I am grateful to you for your grace which abounds, which is greater than all our sins. Father, I give thanks that we are no longer under the law, but by your grace and abundant mercies, we are pardoned from iniquities. Almighty God, as we give ourselves completely to you, we ask that you remove our worldly cravings and redirect our hearts toward what is holy and righteous. Remove Lord God, the stumbling blocks of sin and iniquities so that we may seek after holiness and godliness. Father, lift a standard against the plague of sin and liberate us from presumptuous sinning. Father, we confess our sins, known and unknown, and claim victory over the dominant power of sin. Almighty God, where sin abounds, may your grace much more abound through Jesus Christ, our redeemer. Amen.

Wishing you a blessed day. 💕🙏🙏
