The Depth of our Commitment

Good morning

Scripture reading: Psalms 37:4-6

Worship song: I Lay It Down

Meditation:

True commitment is more than just mere words. The depth of our commitment is established when we can actively put aside our own desires, ambitions, and self-interest to prioritize God's will as highlighted in St. Luke 9:23. Commitment is the unwavering dedication to a goal, activity, or something you are determined to accomplish without getting weary. Genuine commitment is measured by our willingness to live a life that reflects God's character and values, rather than conforming to worldly pressures. An individual committed to God makes it a priority to genuine love the Lord God sincerely and wholeheartedly as expressed in Deuteronomy 6:5 and Matthew 22:37.

We are called to align our hearts and actions with the perfect will of God, and walk in his statutes, and keep his commandments, allowing our lives to be a true reflection of his character (1 Kings 8:61). Proverbs 16:3 reminds us to commit our works unto the LORD, and our thoughts shall be established. God is looking for people who boldly refuse to compromise their faith and willingly forsake their worldly possessions for His kingdom, as stated in St. Luke 14:33. The depth of our commitment is not just admired; it is a profession of our faith and dedication to serve God wholeheartedly. Whosoever will not forsake all your possessions for the sake of Christ cannot be His disciple (St. Luke 14:33).

Let us pray:

Emanuel, God with us, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. I am willing, Lord God to commit my life as a living sacrifice unto you. Through obedience to your word and the leading of the Holy Spirit, may I commit to your perfect will, love you with all my heart, take up my cross, and follow you daily. Lord, as I surrender all to follow you, give me faith and courage to forsake my desires, ambitions, and self-interest to prioritize your will. Bless me, O God, with a heart devoted to serving and loving you. Lord, I seek your divine help to practice spiritual discipline so I can remain steadfast and not be torn between discipleship and worldly concerns. Lord, I seek your divine strength to maintain my commitment to you, sacrificing my time and service to lead a life that pleases you, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Have a joyful day. 💞🙏

  1. Let us remain committed in all we do, first to the cause of Christ and in all other areas of life. Once we express our desires to Him, He will see us through. Hold fast. Shalom.
