He Carried Our Griefs

Good morning

Scripture reading: Psalms 22:1-18

Hymn: Nailed to The Cross

Meditation:

During his earthly ministry, Jesus underwent human suffering. He was intimately acquainted with physical limitations such as hunger, thirst, and pain. He suffered deep emotional anguish such as betrayal, rejection, hatred, loneliness, and sorrow. He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with much grief. He experienced hunger and thirst during his 40-day fast and on the cross. Jesus was rejected by his hometown, abandoned by his disciples during his arrest, and forsaken while enduring the punishment for our sins.

He experienced extreme physical torture including flogging until his skin was separated from the flesh, a crown of thorns pierced his head, and nails were driven through his hands and feet. Jesus bore the emotional pain of spiritual separation from the Father, abandoned by his closest disciples, denied by Peter, and betrayed by Judas. He was laughed at, spat upon, and beaten by soldiers while the crowd jeered. Nazareth rejected him, as they only saw him as the son of a carpenter, and not a prophet.

Despite His sacrificial death for our redemption, many today neglect to honor the Messiah as their Lord and Savior. By failing to make Jesus your Lord, you are rejecting the salvation He paid for on the cross.

Let us pray:

Shepherd of my soul, you were wounded for my transgressions, pierced for my iniquities, the chastisement of my peace was laid upon you and for that I am extremely grateful. Lord, I give you thanks for transferring my guilt to the cross. I praise and glorify you, O God for by your stripes, I am made whole and delivered from all infirmities. I am truly grateful to be liberated from the penalty of my iniquities through your sacrifice. Father, I am living this moment only because of your grace and mercy. I am amazed by the extent of your unmerited love and kindness towards us, O God. Almighty God, when I survey the wondrous cross on which you willingly lay down your life, choosing to endure the agony of a merciless crucifixion, love so amazing, so divine, I must confess that none can compare to your matchless love. You are God all by yourself and I am truly grateful for the day you changed me from a tare to a wheat with divine purpose through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen. (Child of the King).

Wishing you uncommon favor. 💪👏🙏
