What's On the Inside?

Good morning

Scripture reading: St. Luke 6:43-45

Worship song: From the Inside Out

Meditation:

Have you ever selected something only to realize it is not as effective as you thought it would be? People tend to make choices based on what they see outwardly —physique, beauty, and appearance —and never take the time to analyze the interior. We choose with our eyes, selecting that which appears outwardly appealing, enticing, and attractive. The story of Jesse's son is relatable to everyone because it highlights the universal human tendency to be swayed by a "book's cover" rather than carefully evaluating its actual, underlying "content" or quality. This underscores the importance of thoroughly investigating any situation or person before reaching a final conclusion.

Like Samuel, we are blinded by what appeals to our eyes. Samuel looked at the countenance, the stature, and the height of Jesse's son, but those he selected were rejected by God. The Lord sees not as man sees, for man looked on the outward appearance, but the Lord looked at the heart. Do not be deluded by outward demeanor. Take time to know and examine what is inside before making regrettable choices. What is in our heart is concealed, hidden from others and the scrutiny of human eyes. Our hearts conceal what is inside our package, hidden from the scrutiny of the eyes. Does your inner self reflect what is shown outwardly?

Let us pray:

Most righteous eternal Father, the one who knows the depth and interior of our hearts, at your feet I bow prostrate, laying my heart on your examination table. Father, examine the depths of our hearts and where iniquities abound, I ask, O God, that you do a thorough cleansing. Almighty God, I beseech you to sprinkle clean water on us and cleanse us from all filthiness. Father, please search our hearts, take away the stony heart, and give us hearts of flesh. Almighty God, place your spirit within us so we can walk in your statutes and by your precepts. Protect our eyes, which are the light of our body, that they may perceive good and not evil. Almighty God, grant us a discerning spirit to help us make the right decisions and not be deceived by outward appearance through the leading of the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.

Wishing you a peaceful day. ✌💕🙏

  1. Thank you for always raising interesting subjects. Anything inside is always hidden but sometimes are revealing by behavioral hints. Sometimes our actions can reveal our thoughts more so when we speak and what is said. It is often said. One's action betray him or One's speech betray him. Nevertheless God knows a deceiver in the dark. To One's own self be true and then thou can't be false to any man. God bless you wonderful one. ❤️🙏🙏
