What's On the Inside?

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. Luke 6:43-45 Worship song: From the Inside Out   Meditation:      Have you ever selected something only to realize it is not as effective as you thought it would be? People tend to make choices based on what they see outwardly —physique, beauty, and appearance —and never take the time to analyze the interior. We choose with our eyes, selecting that which appears outwardly appealing, enticing, and attractive. The story of Jesse's son is relatable to everyone because it highlights the universal human tendency to be swayed by a "book's cover" rather than carefully evaluating its actual, underlying "content" or quality. This underscores the importance of thoroughly investigating any situation or person before reaching a final conclusion.       Like Samuel, we are blinded by what appeals to our eyes. Samuel looked at the countenance, the stature, and the height of Jesse's son, but those he selected were rej...

Praising God Regardless

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Colossians 3:15-17 Praise song: Let Praises Rise   Meditation:      I recently watched a video and was mesmerized by the unbelievable scenes of jubilation and the display of enthusiasm portrayed by the children as they worshiped God. They didn't have microphones; they used soda bottles. They didn't have a live band or famous singers; they lifted their voices together and sang to the glory of God. They didn't have musical instruments; they had a makeshift representation of instruments made from plastic and sticks. They didn't worship in a temple, nor did they sit on comfortable, cushioned seats; they sat outdoors on tarpaulins, barefoot, singing praises to God, yet they never murmured or complained.       The children of Uganda teach us a vital lesson about being content with what we have and rejoicing no matter our situation. We are taught to express our appreciation by thanking God and using what He has b...

Hope Amidst Difficulties

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Hebrews 11:1-3 Worship song: There Is Hope in The Lord   Meditation:      Can you maintain hope when all around you seems hopeless, when all you see around you is chaos, disappointment, failures, and discouragement? One of the greatest gifts God has given to us is hope. What is hope? And why should we have hope? Hope is the desire or wish for something to happen. Hope enables us to endure challenges and strive to make a positive impact. Hope increases our assurance and causes us to look at things that take a longer period to accomplish as mere setbacks. Hope increases our confidence, strengthens our beliefs, and causes us to wait patiently with expectancy.       Our hope as believers is built on the unshakeable foundation of God's faithfulness. It is the assured expectation that He is able and will do what He has promised. When faced with the belief that nothing can get better, hope endures by trusting com...

Good Deeds Cannot Override Sin

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Matthew 7:21-23 Song: Grace Will Always Be Greater Than Sin   Meditation:      If each time we do good deeds, they override our sins, many of our sins would remain because our good deeds are either few or nonexistent. Think about how many times you sin per hour and compare it to how many good deeds you do in a day. Sin is primarily conceived and committed in the mind and manifested in our actions. Our salvation is a gift of God’s mercy, achieved through the transformative power of the Holy Spirit enables a profound renewal within us. This inner transformation represents a complete cleansing and transformation, not just an outward change. Through the grace of God, we are declared righteous, granting us the promise of eternal life.       Therefore, sin shall not have dominion over us because we are not under the law but under grace. Where sin has abounded, grace abounds all the more. We are justified freely ...

Abound in Knowledge

Image
Good morning  Scripture reading: 2 Peter 1: 1–10 Worship song: Worthy Meditation:      In addition to staying pure from worldly corruption and being diligent, Peter's letters outline several specific attributes of good stewardship. He advised us to add these attributes to remain fruitful and fertile. The Apostle Peter describes a process for developing spiritual maturity. His guidelines instruct believers to purposefully adopt Christlike characteristics, behave in a righteous and godly manner, use their gifts to serve others, practice cheerful hospitality, and remain humble. We must actively use the resources God has given us to guide our actions and achieve our purpose. The more knowledge we have of God, the closer we get to Him, and the more we learn to apply the steps necessary for spiritual growth, of which the greatest attribute that we need to obtain is love. When we forsake all to follow Christ, the word of God empowers us, and the Holy Spirit equip...

The Throne of Grace

Image
Good morning Scripture: Hebrews 4: 14-16 Praise song: Bow down and Worship   Meditation:      The high priest alone had the privilege of entering the innermost chamber of the temple once a year, where he offered a sacrifice to God on behalf of himself and the people to atone for their sins. The sacrifices were offered by the high priest, respectively, for himself, the other priests, and the people. The animals offered for the remission of sin had no spots, defects, or blemishes. The priest was given the task of carrying the burden, the heavy weight, and the iniquities of the people before the throne of grace.       This responsibility changed when Jesus Christ came and sacrificed himself for the atonement of our sins. Through Christ, the role of the priest as an intercessor has been abolished, and everyone now has direct unlimited access to God's grace. Therefore, let us accept this golden opportunity with gratitude, come boldly to the t...

Better Awaits You

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Revelation 21 Praise song: Jerusalem   Meditation:      This world is unpredictable and full of trials, sadness, and disappointment; nevertheless, we hold onto the divine promise of a restored life through our Lord. A time is coming when suffering will cease, and God will bring an end to all sorrow, sickness, and death. While we look forward to the future, our focus should be on serving God fully and living his way. This life is a journey, not our final destination. For those who place their trust and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, eternal life is assured. The dead in Christ shall rise first, and those who are alive when he shall return shall be caught up together in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and be with him forever.       As we serve the Lord with gladness, and worship Him in spirit and truth, let us be prepared to meet Him. If you have not yet received Jesus Christ as your Saviour, do...

Not Satisfied with The Husk

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. Luke 15:11-32 Worship Song: Satisfied   Meditation:      The prodigal son, driven and blinded by his desire for freedom, ultimately faced the harsh truth of his reality, living a life contrary to what he truly valued. Like many of us, he embarked on what he thought was a pursuit of the best life, yet he later discovered that a life lived without Jesus Christ is heavily laden with sin and emptiness. Too often, we find ourselves comfortable in our struggles, settling for the husk of our poor choices instead of embracing the divine grand cuisine that the Lord has prepared for us. How much longer will you remain unaware that the Almighty Father stands ready to welcome you home? God values you more than any career or material gain.       The life you crave, one of true purpose, is found with Christ. There is immense joy in heaven whenever someone decides to leave a life of sin behind. If you are weary of st...

A Thirst for Righteousness

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Romans 6:11-23 Worship song: Grace Greater Than Our Sin   Meditation:      At the beginning of the chapter, Apostle Paul refuted the misconception that salvation is achieved through grace by faith. Based on his rebuttal, it is clear that the saints were disputing about sin, salvation, law, and grace. Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. Although the grace of God abounds with those who yield to righteousness, and his grace is greater than all our sins, we should not remain as servants to sin. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.       Before, you were enslaved to sin, and righteousness was not a factor in your life. Now, freed from sin, you have become servants to God. Should the believers who obeyed from the heart the doctrine that was delivered to us continue to yield our members to ungodliness? Shall...

Blessed Are the Meek

Image
Good morning   Scripture reading: Matthew 5:4 Worship song: Let the Peace of God Reign   Meditation:      It is difficult to maintain your composure and remain calm, gentle, and peaceful among those who display hostile and arrogant behavior. Still, we must possess the attributes of the fruit of the Spirit, which serve as evidence to prove that we are truly children of God. While Jesus sat with the multitude and his disciples, he taught them about the beatitudes and the reward of possessing such qualities. One of the beatitudes that are important in the life of a child of God is having the spirit of meekness. Meekness is an attribute of the Savior that is desperately needed today. It is a spiritual gift obtained through the Holy Spirit.       Those who possess such qualities have a humble attitude that expresses wisdom, self-control, patience, and a calmness that is not easily provoked. Being meek does not mean you are a coward, it s...

Known by Your Fruits

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Galatians 5: 22-26 Worship song: Bear Fruit   Meditation:      Over 2,000 different kinds of fruit exist globally, yet the average Western diet uses only about 10% of them. In a spiritual context, we recognize two significant types of fruit: natural fruits and the fruits of the Spirit. The nine fruits of the Holy Spirit, as outlined in Galatians 5, represent the essential character traits that should guide a believer. The qualities one displays serve as a reflection of their genuine faith as a follower of Jesus Christ. As noted in Matthew 7, just as a tree produces fruit according to its nature, a person's actions reflect their fundamental character.       What kind of fruit are you producing? How can we cultivate the fruit of the Spirit in our lives? These spiritual fruits are not a reward for our personal accomplishment but a gift we receive through our relationship with God and the Holy Spirit. We canno...

Living, Yet You Are Spiritually Dead

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Romans 6 Praise song: Jesus, He Rescued Me   Meditation:      You might ask, 'How can I be living, but dead?' Living a life apart from Christ means being in a spiritually dead condition. Anyone who has not embraced Jesus is in a condition of spiritual brokenness and exists apart from God's grace. This ultimately leads to damnation and separation from God if not reconciled. Spiritual death is the separation of the soul from God. The deepest and most meaningful purpose in life is found by committing one's life to Jesus Christ, for without Him, we are hopeless. If you are at a state where you are dead in your trespasses and sin, and consumed by your sinful nature, God can redeem you.       The wages of sin are death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ. When you decide to follow Jesus Christ, sin will no longer dominate your life. For those who accept Christ, a banquet table will be sprea...

The Warning

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Genesis 19: 22-26 Worship song: I Won't Go Back   Topic: The Warning God always warns before destroying a city or the wicked; He uses various methods to deliver these warnings, including prophets, spoken words, the Holy Spirit, angels, and other means to ensure people receive his message and have the opportunity to repent before facing destruction. The Bible provides multiple examples of God giving divine forewarnings. These include alerting Noah to the impending flood, dispatching the prophet Jonah to caution the wicked city of Nineveh, disclosing to Abraham his intention to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, and instructing Moses to deliver warnings to Pharaoh. God continues to issue warnings through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, visions, dreams, prophecy, and the Bible.       When you receive a warning, pay attention and do not look back; remember not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Move forwar...

The Restorer of The Broken

Image
Good morning. Scripture reading: 1 Thessalonians 5:23 Worship song: Make Me Whole   Meditation:      Our society is equipped with a vast number of skilled professionals and technicians who provide specialized services in various areas. For example, plumbers are called upon for issues related to piping systems, electricians diagnose and repair electrical problems, auto mechanics perform vehicle maintenance and tests, and physicians attend to our medical and diagnostic needs. Not everyone needs these services, but we are all in need of divine intervention to maintain our physical, mental, and spiritual health.       We all need a Savior who provides the only way to be made right with a holy God, to receive forgiveness, and to have a life of true purpose. Due to our inherent sinful nature and desires, we constantly breach the fundamental principles and standards set by God. We are all sinners in need of God's grace. We need God's mercy...

Breaking Protocol

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. John 5: 1-9 Worship song: Oh, It Is Jesus   Meditation:      At the Pool of Bethesda, a large crowd of people with disabilities gathered, hoping for healing from its waters. They believed that when the water was periodically stirred, the first person to enter would be cured. However, this created a system where the fastest and most able had an advantage over the most helpless. In this hopeless environment, a man who had been an invalid for 38 years was trapped by his own limitations and the helplessness of those around him.       When Jesus found him, he bypassed the popular belief about the water and offered immediate grace, commanding the man to rise, take up his mat, and walk. This story illustrates that our salvation comes from the Lord, not from rituals or human efforts, and that God's power is not bound by our circumstances. He showed compassion and brought the man wholeness, proving that God's p...

God's faithfulness:

Image
Good morning There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Joshua 1:5   Worship song: Never Walk Alone   Testimony of God's faithfulness:      Your victories over challenges serve as a testimony to God's incredible power. What He can do is truly miraculous, and nothing can compare to the sweet and unconditional nature of His love, grace, and goodness. Don't look at your situation; keep your eyes on God who holds all things together. I am living proof of what God's mercy can do.       This journey has shown me that trusting God with your circumstances through prayer is met with an incredible sense of joy when things change for the better. While we often speak of God's miracle-working power, it becomes a genuine belief when you personally witness it. When facing situations that seem impossible, his faithfulness is reve...

Divine Healing

Image
Good morning Day of prayer -   Healing   For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, this is Zion, whom no man seeketh after. (Jeremiah 30:17)   Worship song: Heal Me Oh Lord   Let us pray:      Wonderful, magnificent Father, our great High Priest, at your feet I bow and worship you, my Lord, for you deserve all the glory, honor, and praise. Heavenly Father, we praise you for your daily renewal of goodness, grace, and mercy. We offer ourselves to you as a living sacrifice and surrender our lives to your will. We humbly ask for your divine intervention for healing, deliverance, and victory over all spiritual, physical, and emotional afflictions. Father, even though we will face afflictions, I hold to Your faithful promise, confident that You will deliver us out of them all. I believe in you, Jesus Christ, and I am extremely grateful that because of yo...

Serve The Lord with Diligence

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Colossians 3:23-24 Worship song: I Will Serve Thee   Meditation:      Ministers such as Paul and Timothy knew the purpose of their calling, and therefore they labored assiduously to fulfil and accomplish their mission. They remain relentless in the face of persecution and adversity. Paul and Timothy were resilient and unbending, even when faced with opposition, to achieve their objectives. There was no conflict of interest, favoritism, or partiality as they labored diligently to discharge their duties.       To serve diligently and carry out the master's will, we must understand our calling, appreciate it, and remain steadfast and fervent in whatever the Lord has appointed us to do. A call to serve requires us to be committed, dedicated, and fervent in the face of persecution and negative criticism. Matt. 5 reminds us that blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, and blessed you shall ...

Caught in The Thicket

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Genesis 22:1-18 Worship song: My Life, Your offering   Meditation:      The quality of Abraham's faith was put to the test by God. Abraham loved his son, Isaac, but willingly journeyed to the land of Moriah, where God commanded him to go to sacrifice his only son. Though he loved his son dearly, he obeyed God's command and went on the mission without hesitation or questioning God's plan. Just as Abraham lifted the knife to slay his son, the angel of the Lord called him by his name and ordered him to stop. Abraham froze, lifted up his eyes, and looked, and beheld a ram caught in the thicket by its horn.       What is it that God is calling you to sacrifice today? What about sacrificing your earthly pleasures for spiritual gain? When you are weighed down by your mistakes, God's grace, through Jesus, provides a complete and total escape from them. You don't have to carry your burdens alone; God has the power ...

Turn Your Worries into Praise

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Matthew 6:25-34 Worship song: My life is in your hands   Meditation:      Why worry about tomorrow? Why worry when things are not going as planned? While it is easy to stop worrying about minor things, what do we do when bigger problems occur and leave us in a panic-stricken, frantic mood? Worry does not change anything. Instead of solving problems, worry drains your energy and keeps you from focusing on solutions. Worry only adds stress to our already overburdening situations, which can then lead to health hazards.       Don't be anxious about your daily needs. God takes care of the birds, and he makes the lilies of the field beautiful. You are worth far more than they are. We worry because we lack faith in God, our provider. We worry because we carry our burdens instead of leaving them at the altar. Jesus says, Come unto me all who are heavy-laden. Come with your problems; come with your lack, spiritual ...

Think Positive Thoughts

Image
Good morning Scripture Reading: Philippians 4:8 Worship Song: It All Belongs to You   Meditation:      People take great pride in doing everything possible to keep their bodies healthy, fit, and in good shape by exercising, practicing self-care, and maintaining a healthy diet, but what about the mind? Are you taking the same precautions when it comes to guarding your mind? Are you conscious of your mind's meditation and what you allow to bombard your thoughts? Your mind is a battlefield; protect it by filling it with God's truth. Your thoughts are the seeds of your life. The quality of your thoughts determines the quality of your life.       Guard and protect your mind, and be mindful of what you think, because your life is shaped by your thoughts. How do you protect your mind from toxic thoughts? You protect your mind by filtering out any unwholesome thoughts that counteract your pursuit of godly living. Saturate your mind with the...

The Thirst in Our Soul

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Psalms 42 Worship song: People Need the Lord   Meditation:      People often try to fill a deep spiritual void with temporary fixes, such as wealth, pleasure, or possessions, which ultimately leave them feeling frustrated and unsatisfied because they are seeking fulfillment from the wrong sources. The emptiness in our hearts and souls can be quenched only by yielding ourselves entirely to God. Nothing else can truly satisfy the emptiness and the spiritual void in us, but God. Just as the Psalmist wrote, our soul thirsts for God, and only by turning to and surrendering to Him can that hunger be satisfied. This sense of spiritual longing reveals that our deepest thirst can only be satisfied by a relationship with God.       Like a parched land desperately needs water to live, so our souls are parched without God. Whenever you feel spiritually dry, look to God and cast your cares upon Him. Discover what ...

Wrapped in a Blanket of Fear

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Deuteronomy 31:1-8 Worship song: Fear Is a Liar   Meditation:      When he was chosen to lead the Israelites to the Promised Land, Joshua experienced anxiety and uncertainty, fueled by fear, which undermined his leadership abilities. More than once, Joshua was reminded of the divine order to be strong, courageous, and not be afraid, for the Lord God will be with him wherever he goes. Our anxiety when we explore unknown territory stems from a natural fear of the unpredictable, much like Joshua's journey into the new land. However, if we trust in the Lord and do not lean on our limited understanding, He will direct our path. Though Joshua was fearful, he obeyed the Lord's command by demonstrating strong leadership and faith leading the Israelites to victory.       We can find assurance in the promises of the Lord to strengthen and uphold us with his righteous right hand. We can further be encouraged by the t...

Forgiving Ourselves

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Psalm 32:1-5 Mediation song: Please Forgive Me   Meditation:      It's often more difficult to forgive ourselves for mistakes than others because we hold ourselves to impossibly high standards, leading to self-criticism and a refusal to move on. This self-punishment, rooted in a desire to be better, traps us in the past. On the other hand, true growth comes from acknowledging imperfection, forgiving ourselves, and freeing ourselves to learn and move forward with self-compassion.       We cannot revoke what is already done, but we can relinquish the burden of guilt through confession and forgiveness. We are called to take accountability for our wrongs, but we are not meant to be prisoners of our past. Jesus Christ offers redemption, freeing us from the power of sin and making us a new creation. Move gracefully towards your higher calling because your destiny does not stop at your mistakes. The sooner y...

They That Are Against You

Image
Good morning Scripture Reading: Acts 6 Worship Song: Whom Shall I Fear   Meditation:      Living in a world with its share of challenges, you might encounter people who make things difficult. There will always be faultfinders and those who spread false reports to discourage and hinder you as you excel. However, do not be discouraged for He that is with you is more than those that are against you. Stephen was one of seven leaders chosen to serve and minister to the widows. Some of the synagogue leaders were mystified by Stephen's outstanding performance as an evangelist, so they disputed with him and went to the council with falsified information.       The witnesses who came to challenge Stephen's intelligence were humiliated because he spoke with such compelling power and wisdom that his adversaries could not withstand it. He was not fighting an independent battle. The glory of God was seen on him so that his countenance baffled hi...

Hurt People Hurt Others

Image
Good morning Scripture: Ephesians 4: 22-32 Praise song: Wounded soldiers   Meditation:      Those who have been hurt often inflict pain on others, not out of malice, but because their own unresolved suffering causes them to become defensive and withdrawn. This deep-rooted sorrow can lead them to lash out seemingly without reason, a behavior that is a reflection of their own struggles rather than a deliberate attempt to harm. Their painful past makes them guarded, and they may push others away as a way of coping with their internal chaos.       While you may be eager to move past the pain, genuine recovery from such betrayal does not happen instantly. It is a gradual process that requires patience with yourself as you navigate through your emotions. When life's hurts leave our hearts wounded and scarred, we can find enduring comfort and restoration only in Jesus Christ. He is a constant source of comfort and light, eager to guide us throu...

Second Chance

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Micah 7:18-20 Worship song: God of a Second Chance   Meditation:      Throughout the scriptures, second chances were extended to many, including the Israelites, Apostle Paul, the Ninevites, King David, and the prodigal son. The Israelites' repeated unfaithfulness never exhausted God's unending compassion. God's inexhaustible patience and boundless mercy were extended to the Israelites despite their frequent acts of disobedience. The parable of the prodigal son offers a profound narrative that illustrates God's unconditional love and readiness to restore those who have strayed and desire to return to Him.       God demonstrated the depth of his love for us by having Christ die on our behalf at a time when we were still in rebellion against him so that we might be saved from the coming judgment. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Lamenta...

Nowhere to Run, Nowhere to Hide

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Psalms 139 Worship song: Where Can I Go   Meditation:      Overwhelmed with emotion, the Psalmist reflects on God's incredible, infinite power and omnipresence, marveling that God is intimately acquainted with every detail of his life, even his most hidden thoughts and feelings. God's wisdom and knowledge are unattainable; none has the power to obtain them. While we can earn academic titles, and be blessed with the spirit of discernment, we can never earn the boundless wisdom and knowledge that belong only to God. The Psalmist acknowledged that God's power is beyond human understanding. He realizes he cannot hide from God because God is always watching.       As Psalm 139 states, there is nowhere to flee from God's presence. Though we might hide our wrongdoings and indulgences from human view, all our actions, whether righteous or wicked, are laid exposed before God to whom we must give account. We cannot ...

Your Chains Are Not Physical

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. Mark 5:1-9 Worship song: Chain Breaker   Meditation: When Jesus arrived in the country of the Gerasene, he was confronted by a fierce and demon-possessed man who lived among the tombs. No one could subdue him, not even with chains, for he would always break free. His condition was not caused by physical restraint, but he was held captive by evil spiritual forces. The account describes his ultimate deliverance when Jesus casts out the spiritual demons possessing him. Evil forces seek to target the most vulnerable and hence prey on the weak. Some of the most powerful limitations we encounter are not physical restraints, but rather spiritual or emotional obstacles. Several inner struggles, including fear, negative thoughts, unfaithfulness, dwelling on past mistakes, ungodly deeds, worry, doubt, and spiritual weakness, can hinder us from fulfilling our purposes. However, if we surrender all to Jesus, he will loosen the shackles and set...

Desire Takes Advantage of Opportunity

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: James 4:1-8 Worship song: Empty Me   Meditation:      Our minds are a spiritual battleground where our sinful desires, work of the flesh, constantly conflict with God's will, the fruit of the spirit, a struggle exemplified by the biblical concept of "flesh warring against the spirit". To gain control over our thoughts and prevent fleshly desires from taking root and influencing our actions, we must actively choose to focus on God's word and the Holy Spirit, thereby starving the flesh and empowering the spirit. If we allow our minds to be occupied by fleshly thoughts, those desires are more likely to manifest in our actions.       Whatever desire that receives more attention from our thoughts will become stronger and more dominant in our lives. Be mindful of the things of the flesh that war against the spirit and eradicate them from your mind before they take root. You can control the thought...
