Living, Yet You Are Spiritually Dead
Good morning
Scripture reading: Romans 6
Praise song: Jesus, He Rescued Me
Meditation:
You might ask, 'How can I be living, but dead?' Living a life apart from Christ means being in a spiritually dead condition. Anyone who has not embraced Jesus is in a condition of spiritual brokenness and exists apart from God's grace. This ultimately leads to damnation and separation from God if not reconciled. Spiritual death is the separation of the soul from God. The deepest and most meaningful purpose in life is found by committing one's life to Jesus Christ, for without Him, we are hopeless. If you are at a state where you are dead in your trespasses and sin, and consumed by your sinful nature, God can redeem you.
The wages of sin are death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ. When you decide to follow Jesus Christ, sin will no longer dominate your life. For those who accept Christ, a banquet table will be spread for you with grace, mercy, love, and peace. Accepting Jesus Christ does not mean you will not struggle; it means you will have the Savior and the Holy Spirit to help you endure tribulations and hardships. By choosing to live for God, you gain the gift of eternal life. Your past mistakes no longer define you; you have been made new.
Let us pray:
Almighty God, in your presence there is fullness of joy, and
so God, this morning I dwell in your presence to be refreshed and sustained
with your divine grace. Father, I give thee thanks for rescuing me when I was
sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore. I pray, O God, that you
extend mercy to the lost souls, rescue the perishing, and care for the
spiritual dying soul. I pray, O God, especially for my loved ones, that you
will transform their mindset and renew the right spirit within them, Lord. Almighty
God, sin is sweet and enticing, but God, let it be a constant reminder to us
that the wages of sin are death. Release us, O God, from the bondage of sin and
give us a desire for holiness and righteousness. Let not sin reign in our
mortal bodies that we should lust thereof. Deliver us, O God, from the
stronghold of the bondage of sin, from the wages of sin, and grant us
everlasting life. Almighty God, draw us close to you, for if we are living
without you, we are, but spiritually dead. Father, I pray we will walk in
newness with Jesus as the anchor of our lives. Amen.
Be safe. 💓👏🙏
