Caught in The Thicket
Good morning
Scripture reading: Genesis 22:1-18
Worship song: My Life, Your offering
Meditation:
The quality of Abraham's faith was put to the test by God. Abraham loved his son, Isaac, but willingly journeyed to the land of Moriah, where God commanded him to go to sacrifice his only son. Though he loved his son dearly, he obeyed God's command and went on the mission without hesitation or questioning God's plan. Just as Abraham lifted the knife to slay his son, the angel of the Lord called him by his name and ordered him to stop. Abraham froze, lifted up his eyes, and looked, and beheld a ram caught in the thicket by its horn.
What is it that God is calling you to sacrifice today? What about
sacrificing your earthly pleasures for spiritual gain? When you are weighed
down by your mistakes, God's grace, through Jesus, provides a complete and
total escape from them. You don't have to carry your burdens alone; God has the
power to forgive you and give you a fresh, clean slate. He sent Jesus to be the
ultimate sacrifice, allowing you to be freed from your past and fully
transformed. God can deliver you from destructive patterns and set you free to
live a better life but you must first surrender all to Him
Let us pray.
Dear Heavenly Father, our sacrificial Lamb, I glorify,
worship, and honor you, O God, for sending your son Jesus Christ as the
ultimate sacrifice to redeem us from the bondage of sin. Almighty God, flip the
script that we have rehearsed, the lifestyle that we have become so acquainted
with, and instill within us the desire to do your will. Almighty God, slay the
spirit of disobedience and grant us the desire to incline our hearts to do the
will of God. Father, like Abraham, I pray that we will offer our best
sacrifice, obey Your command, and fix our minds on You, O God. Father,
strengthen our faith and shield us from the attacks of the enemy in the mighty
name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.
Have a peaceful and blessed day. ✌💕🙏
