Breaking Protocol
Good morning
Scripture reading: St. John 5: 1-9
Worship song: Oh, It Is Jesus
Meditation:
At the Pool of Bethesda, a large crowd of people with disabilities gathered, hoping for healing from its waters. They believed that when the water was periodically stirred, the first person to enter would be cured. However, this created a system where the fastest and most able had an advantage over the most helpless. In this hopeless environment, a man who had been an invalid for 38 years was trapped by his own limitations and the helplessness of those around him.
When Jesus found him, he bypassed the popular
belief about the water and offered immediate grace, commanding the man to rise,
take up his mat, and walk. This story illustrates that our salvation comes from
the Lord, not from rituals or human efforts, and that God's power is not bound
by our circumstances. He showed compassion and brought the man wholeness,
proving that God's power is not bound by our circumstances or by human
limitations. This is a lesson that when we are at our most helpless, it is in
our faith in Jesus that we find our true strength.
Let us pray:
Blessed redeemer, wonderful Saviour, Lord, you are
victorious, superior in splendor, gracious and merciful, and matchless in
power, you are God all by yourself. Compassionate Lord, we look to no other god
but you, for divine help, direction, breakthrough, healing, and deliverance. Though we have many struggles,
we are confident, O God, that you will deliver us from them all. Holy Father,
we come to you in our weakness, burdened by infirmities. Like the man waiting
by the pool, we have no one but you to turn to. We lift our eyes to you, Mighty
God, knowing that all our help comes from you alone. Father, while we seek your
help, grant us courage and the spirit of endurance to wait patiently for you to
heal our brokenness through Jesus Christ, our Advocate. Amen.
Wishing you a blessed day. 💕🙏🙌
