Known by Your Fruits
Good morning
Scripture reading: Galatians 5: 22-26
Worship song: Bear Fruit
Meditation:
Over 2,000 different kinds of fruit exist globally, yet the average Western diet uses only about 10% of them. In a spiritual context, we recognize two significant types of fruit: natural fruits and the fruits of the Spirit. The nine fruits of the Holy Spirit, as outlined in Galatians 5, represent the essential character traits that should guide a believer. The qualities one displays serve as a reflection of their genuine faith as a follower of Jesus Christ. As noted in Matthew 7, just as a tree produces fruit according to its nature, a person's actions reflect their fundamental character.
What kind of fruit are you producing? How can we cultivate the fruit
of the Spirit in our lives? These spiritual fruits are not a reward for our
personal accomplishment but a gift we receive through our relationship with God
and the Holy Spirit. We cannot bear good fruit when our lifestyle choices are
corrupt with evil deeds. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit disconnected from
the vine, a person cannot produce the fruit of the Spirit without being
connected to the Holy Spirit. Just as a fruit tree needs constant care to bear
fruit, we need a continuous connection with the Holy Spirit to produce
spiritual growth. Let us surrender to the Holy Spirit's guidance so that Christ
can develop the character traits of the Spirit within us.
Let us pray:
Merciful Savior, glorious in splendor and majesty, with a
heart of thanksgiving, I glorify you, O God. Almighty God, while the fruit
trees only bear during their season, Lord we seek not to possess seasonal
fruits, but to obtain the fruit of the spirit throughout our lifespan. Heavenly
Father, we want to grow gracefully, free from the works of the flesh,
possessing the fruit of the Spirit as evidence of our connection with you. O
Lord, grant us the grace to be fruitful in all virtues, to abhor all that is
evil, and to hold fast to all that is good. Father, we will go forth in the
strength of the Lord, seeking only to develop a lifestyle that depicts holiness
and godliness. Father, help us move away from our sinful habits and toward a
life that reflects Jesus' character, led by the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Wishing you a fantastic day. 💖🙏🙏
