Good Deeds Cannot Override Sin
Good morning
Scripture reading: Matthew 7:21-23
Song: Grace Will Always Be Greater Than Sin
Meditation:
If each time we do good deeds, they override our sins, many of our sins would remain because our good deeds are either few or nonexistent. Think about how many times you sin per hour and compare it to how many good deeds you do in a day. Sin is primarily conceived and committed in the mind and manifested in our actions. Our salvation is a gift of God’s mercy, achieved through the transformative power of the Holy Spirit enables a profound renewal within us. This inner transformation represents a complete cleansing and transformation, not just an outward change. Through the grace of God, we are declared righteous, granting us the promise of eternal life.
Therefore, sin
shall not have dominion over us because we are not under the law but under
grace. Where sin has abounded, grace abounds all the more. We are justified
freely by his grace through the redemption of Jesus Christ. When we walk as
children of light and sincerely confess our sins, we can trust God, who is
faithful and just, to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We are called to confess our sins so that we
may fully receive this divine and boundless grace.
Let us pray.
Sovereign God, I give you thanks, O God, for your grace and
mercies that abound. Almighty God, unless we abide by your precepts, confess
our faults, and surrender to you, Father, we will not be redeemed, and so,
Lord, I confess that I have sinned against you in my thoughts and actions.
Almighty God, we confess our sins, acknowledging their multitude, but also
affirming that your grace is sufficient to surpass them all. We understand that
our good deeds cannot erode our sins; therefore, we humbly seek your forgiveness,
Lord, laying aside our guilt and shame, and repenting of all our iniquities.
Father, disrobe us of our earthly apparel, rid our souls of the toxicity of our
sins, slay our passion for ungodliness, and cleanse us of any unhealthy
thoughts and carnal appetites. Thank you, Lord God, for your sufficient grace,
which is made perfect in our weaknesses through Jesus Christ, our redeemer.
Amen.
Wishing you a wonderful day. Keep safe. 💞👏🙏
