The Greatest Human Sacrifice

Good morning

Scripture reading: Hebrews 9:19-28

Worship song: I Give You My Heart

Meditation:

What are you willing to sacrifice? We often hear that we should sacrificially give our best monetary offering. However, does providing our best offering guarantee us a place in God's kingdom? Is monetary sacrifice our sole and highest form of giving? We look forward to the opportunity to sow seeds and bless ministries; nonetheless, we must remember that, while giving, Jesus expects us to sow into the Kingdom of God by surrendering our lives to Him.

The most valuable offering we can present to God is our life as a living sacrifice. It is in our best interest to prioritize offering our lives and surrendering all to follow Jesus Christ. While giving generously from what God has blessed us with is commendable, without a personal connection to God, our giving lacks true heart and purpose. Only by committing our lives to God and accepting Him as King are we saved and receive the gift of eternal life.

Over two thousand years ago, the greatest sacrifice took place when Jesus Christ died for us. He bore the full penalty of human sin, endured brutal torture, and a criminal's death to reconcile us with God. While we give generously for a worthy cause, remember the most significant sacrifice is a life surrendered to Jesus Christ.

Let us pray:

Dearest Father, one thing I desire, and that will I seek: to dwell in Your house all my days, to behold Your beauty, and experience unbroken fellowship with You, Lord. Almighty God, help those with misguided religious agendas to submit themselves to Your true righteousness, O God. Father, I pray that our primary desire will be to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice unto You, holy and acceptable in Your sight, O God. Guide us to live completely in Your will, Almighty God, and be transformed by the renewing of our minds to accept, abide, and conform to Your perfect will, O God. Father, I pray that as we give generously, we will not just give to earthly causes but surrender our lives to You, O God. Father, keep our eyes fixed on Your true righteous path. By Your mercies, O God, grant us wisdom to seek that which is above. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.

Peace and love. Shalom ✌👏🙏
