Spiritually Unclad

Good morning

Scripture reading: Colossians 3:12-17

Worship song: Clothed in Righteousness

Meditation:

While we are dressed appropriately for physical occasions, it is essential to analyze our spiritual attire and recognize that we might be wearing the wrong attire spiritually. Let us confidently examine our spiritual garments and scrutinize the robe we are wearing. If you have allowed compromise to tarnish your life, such as a sinful habit, it is time for a divine wardrobe change. If you realize you are wearing garments of fear, doubt, hatred, bitterness, self-righteousness, self-reliance, pride, or unforgiveness, now is the time to intentionally change those filthy garments.

Divine sacred attire influences your presence, speech, actions, and movement. God desires to cloak us with blessings, humility, praise, righteousness, compassion, power, and light, but we must first put on Christ, walk in obedience, align our will with His ways, and pray earnestly. (Psalm 84:11; Matt 14:14;  Isaiah 61:3; Isaiah 61:10; 1 Peter 5:5-6; St. Luke 24:49; Psalm 104:2).

When we adorn ourselves with empathy, kindness, and gentleness, especially towards those who are hurting, God will clothe our spirit with compassion. Your character and lifestyle qualify you for these garments. Your daily choices are not just character builders; they are garment qualifiers.

Let us pray:

Sovereign God, I thank You for guiding me through Your word of truth to recognize the need to exchange my old tattered garments for Your robes of righteousness. Father God, unclothe me of these strange garments and cloak me in Your righteousness. Remove far from me, Lord, the spirit of heaviness and clothe me in praise and thanksgiving. Clothe me, O God, with grace and glory, and let Your favor sit upon me like a majestic garment. Break the spirit of pride and cover me with humility that I may humble myself in Your presence daily, that You may exalt me in due time. Adorn my heart, Almighty God, with the garments of Your compassion, tender mercy, and empathy. Clothe me, O God, with power from on high before I venture into unknown territory and before I take on new or unfamiliar assignments. Let Your light, O Lord, illuminate the darkness and expose what is hidden. In the powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wishing you abundant blessings. 👐💞🙏
