The Warning
Good morning
Scripture reading: Genesis 19: 22-26
Worship song: I Won't Go Back
Topic: The Warning
God always warns before destroying a city or the wicked; He uses various methods to deliver these warnings, including prophets, spoken words, the Holy Spirit, angels, and other means to ensure people receive his message and have the opportunity to repent before facing destruction. The Bible provides multiple examples of God giving divine forewarnings. These include alerting Noah to the impending flood, dispatching the prophet Jonah to caution the wicked city of Nineveh, disclosing to Abraham his intention to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, and instructing Moses to deliver warnings to Pharaoh. God continues to issue warnings through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, visions, dreams, prophecy, and the Bible.
When you receive a warning, pay attention and do not look back; remember not the former things, neither
consider the things of old. Move forward without fear, escape for thy life,
lest thou be consumed by the lust of thy sins. Heed God's warning and when you
do, stay the course and do not be entangled again with the bondage of sin, for
no man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the
kingdom of God. When you take up the mantle, please do not put it down, forget
those things which are behind, and reach forth unto those things which are
before. Press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in
Christ Jesus. Look forward with confidence, for God will be your constant
support and guide during life's most trying moments.
Let us pray:
Most righteous eternal Father, matchless in splendor and
majesty, great are you Lord and greatly to be praised. Sovereign God, I am
grateful to you, Lord, because you are a faithful God. Lord, I give thanks for
the many times you have warned us and the different ways in which you have
tried to reach us before executing your plan. Almighty God, while we are
wrapped up, entangled in our web of sin, I pray, O God, that we will not be too
yoked to recognize your warning signs. Almighty God, I pray that our hearts
will not be hardened against the prompting of the Holy Spirit. Father, as we
heed your warning, I pray, O God, we will hold onto faith instead of fear and move forward looking towards our higher calling in Christ Jesus. Almighty God,
since we have been changed, freed, and delivered, help us not to look back on
the former things that once enticed us. Lord, keep our hearts and minds
steadfast and focus on you through the help of the Holy Spirit in the name of
Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.
Wishing you a blessed and peaceful day. ✌💕🙏
