Rejoice Not Over a Fall

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Proverbs 24:16-19 Worship song: I Will Boast in Christ   Meditation:      We often celebrate the downfall of our enemies in ignorance, but true wisdom advises us against taking satisfaction in the suffering or failure of our enemies. We are called to serve, pray, and fulfill God's will, and not to condemn and rejoice over our enemy's misfortune or when they stumble. Our responsibility is not to gloat over the misfortune of others, but to love them as God loved us. Instead of feeling excited when our enemies stumble, we must sincerely pray for them.       Whatever persecution we encounter at the hands of our enemies, the ultimate response is to earnestly pray. Do not condemn others; leave all vengeance to God. As you ponder these profound words, ask yourself this provocative question: What do you do or say when your enemy stumbles? Do you feel a sense of excitement when you hear about their misfortune? We a...

An Influenced Mind

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Romans 12:1-2 Worship song: Change My Heart Oh God   Meditation:      It is important to realize that our minds can be profoundly influenced by the performance, attitude, moral standards, conduct, actions, and spoken words of others, whether negatively or positively. When we allow ourselves to be persuaded by flattery, praise, and compliments, we risk letting our lives be fashioned by others' opinions instead of our convictions. We must remember that Satan is a master of manipulation, seeking to invade and control our thoughts to influence our actions. We must be able to discern and recognize deceptive influences.       When we focus our minds on Christ, the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will safeguard our minds. Our minds are influenced by what we gravitate to, so it is vital to keep our minds focused on God and his precepts. Be not deceived; evil communications corrupt good manners. If...

Seeking The Lost at Any Cost

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. Luke 15:1-7 Worship song: Ninety and Nine   Meditation:      After an extensive search for a misplaced document that held significant importance, I experienced an overwhelming amount of frustration and anxiety. Finally, I decided to discontinue the search and reluctantly accepted the possibility of its loss, though I remain hopeful. Reflecting on this experience, I imagine the Lord's feelings when the ones he loved turn away from him and refuse to surrender. When we resist his call, we must remember we are precious and valuable in God's sight and his love is unconditional. His desire for us is for us to turn from our sinful ways and seek Him earnestly.       God takes no pleasure in the demise of the ungodly and does not wish for anyone to perish in their transgressions. Our shepherd, Jesus Christ, stands ready to guide us away from the path of destruction and lead us out of the wilderness of sin. God ...

The Death of The Wicked

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Ezekiel 33: 1-20 Praise song: Only a Look   Meditation:      All of us have an appointment with death, which we cannot cancel, for all must die. Nevertheless, there is a difference between the death of the sinner and the death of the redeemed. When the redeemed die, they will one day be resurrected to eternal life, but the ungodly to eternal torment in the lake of fire prepared for Satan and his cohorts of darkness. While Jesus was speaking to his disciples, he cautioned them not to fear those who destroy the body, but rather to fear him who can destroy both soul and body.        Those who die in Christ should not fear death, for death is not their final destiny. Those who die while meddling in their sin and wickedness, refusing to surrender to Christ, will receive the wrath of God as their reward. Jehovah God declares that he finds no joy, no pleasure in the death of the wicked, and no pleasure in the pun...

The Thin Line Between Sin and Holiness

Image
Good morning: Scripture reading: Ephesians 6:10-18 Worship song: Can't Give Up Now   Meditation:      The picture painted by some gospel ministers depicts a life of liberation, free from the world's troubles, a life free from problems and challenges. However, most fail to inform us that once we turn our backs on the things of the world, we become Satan's target. Once you accept Jesus Christ, your woes began, and your struggles will intensify as the cohorts of darkness work tirelessly to defeat your purpose.       Once you are converted and change from your old sinful way, Satan assigns his best agents to derail you. The enemy will stop at nothing to cause you to falter and return to your ungodly behavior. He will try desperately to entice you with the things you once enjoyed. Every day is a constant battle between the works of the flesh (desire for things contrary to biblical principles) and the spiritual aspect of our lives.  ...

During Difficult Moments

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Daniel 3:23-25 Worship song: Through The Fire   Meditation:      There will be seasons of pain, brokenness, heartache, and struggles. There will be times when our faith is tested and our hope is shattered. There will be times when we will encounter great tribulation. We will be despised by our fellow men, afflicted, rejected, condemned, and humiliated, but think it not strange concerning the fiery trials that will try you. The Hebrew boys' faith was tested and tried, but they remained resilient, fervent, and steadfast, trusting God and exercising faith while their oppressors maliciously schemed and plotted against them.       Don't think it strange when, as believers, these things happen; don't be alarmed or panic, but rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for when the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, you will be numbered among the faithful. Be cognizant of the fact that there is no trial or struggle that y...

God's Deliverance

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Exodus 18:5-12 Worship song: I'll Say of The Lord....   Meditation:      Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, along with Moses' wife and two sons, traveled to the Israelites' camp, where Moses was stationed near the mount of God. After a heartfelt greeting with Jethro, Moses confidently shared with great assurance how the Lord had miraculously delivered the Israelites from Pharaoh's oppression, emphasizing his unwavering faithfulness as he sustained them throughout the wilderness. Jethro was greatly impacted by Moses' testimony. Every doubt he had about God's sovereignty was shattered. He was confident that there was no god as great as the Lord God and none above him. He was exceedingly glad, rejoicing with appreciation for God's loyalty to the Israelites.       Our conversation and shared faith should create an atmosphere for others to believe and acknowledge the faithfulness of God. Our discussions should be ge...

Love Gone Wrong

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. John 3:14-21 Worship song: Reckless Love   Meditation:      The fundamental principles and conditions one is exposed to at a tender age can negatively impact one's lifestyle, causing them to divert and choose a path that displeases God. However, no justification in God's sight will ever justify our ungodly lifestyle choices. Any love that seeks to satisfy only fleshly desires provokes God. God does not have an issue with us loving someone of the same gender, for he has commanded us to love our neighbor as we love ourselves, which is the second greatest command. What God has an issue with is when we entangle ourselves with individuals of the same gender by indulging in sexually promiscuous relationships.       God has an issue when we choose to compromise his command and oppose his will by engaging in deeds that he despises. Any love that dishonors God and his command is a love gone wrong that can only ...

The Great Revival

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Acts 2:1-16 Hymn: Revive Us Again   Meditation:      The Welsh Revival in 1904 resulted in over one hundred and fifty thousand people being converted and added to churches and chapels in Wales. There was a supernatural outpouring of the baptism of the Holy Spirit on the people of Wales. During the revival, lives were transformed, homes and families healed, and churches were packed and on fire with a zeal and desire for God. Some communities were changed when men and women were drawn into a powerful experience of God. The sparks from their spiritual awakening were so powerful that they caused more than twelve countries to become spiritually ignited.       The Apostle Luke recorded in the book of Acts 2 that on the day of Pentecost, many were gathered in the upper room in Jerusalem praising and worshipping God when suddenly, there came a sound from heaven as a mighty rushing wind and filled the house where t...

The Eviction Notice

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Proverbs 6:16-19 Worship song: Break Every Chain   Meditation:      As we know, a tenant who violates a lease agreement or is delinquent with payment faces consequences that range from warnings to eviction. While eviction can have both positive and negative implications depending on one's perspective, it is important to take every precautionary measure necessary to adhere to the agreement.       When it comes to our spiritual well-being, we must recognize the similar principles that apply to the unauthorized residents we allow in our hearts. We must stand firm on God's principles and take immediate action to evict from our lives the works of the flesh. We must execute the judgment of peace and truth in our gates and evict from our hearts all forms of envy, bitterness, hatred, unforgiveness, anger, jealousy, and any ungodly deeds.       Let us exempt from our lives the things that God de...

Stand Your Ground

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Ephesians 6:10-18 Worship song: Don't Fight Alone   Meditation:      Those who choose to follow Jesus Christ will always encounter opposition. A believer will never be free from the attacks of the enemy. As long as we choose to follow Jesus Christ, the devil will target us. Nevertheless, the good news is that through Jesus Christ, we can stand against the enemy's schemes. Don’t become fearful, don’t cower, and don’t give in when the devil attacks. Jesus offers us hope and courage, assuring us we can find peace and strength in Him who overcomes the world.       The devil will always try to keep us in a place of fear. He knows that God has great things in store for all believers so he will do everything in his power to stop the process. If he can get our minds off of those good things and cause you to focus on the bad that’s going on around you, then he can strike fear in your heart. Fear will cause you to d...

God's Purpose in Your Pain

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: 2 Cor. 1:1-8 Worship song: God is Good   Meditation:      Pain is an undeniable experience we all face, whether physical, spiritual, mental, or emotional discomfort. The story of Job, in the Book of Job, exemplifies a righteous and god-fearing individual who endured immense and seemingly undeserved suffering, yet he remained steadfast and faithful to God. If you are battling with the pain of betrayal, the weight of trauma, prolonged illness, or you are struggling with doubt and fear, know that you are not alone.       If you are wrestling with job-related issues, challenging life choices, financial hurdles, or unresolved issues, do not be discouraged. The God of mercy specializes in comforting the broken, supplying the needs of the needy, and rescuing the helpless. While we may not always discern the reason behind our pain, we can absolutely trust that God has a purpose in it. When we feel battered and bru...

Desire Takes Advantage

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: James 4:1-8 Worship song: Empty Me   Meditation:      There is a fierce spiritual battle constantly taking place in our minds, the flesh warring against the Spirit. At times, our minds become consumed by the things that the flesh craves. It is crucial to take control of our minds; otherwise, the fleshly thoughts that occupy our minds can easily manifest into reply the moment the opportunity arises. The devil seeks to bombard us with ungodly thoughts, desperately trying to infiltrate our minds with past indulgence and fleshly desires. However, we must maintain control of our minds, resist the devil, and he will flee. Whatever we choose to focus on will significantly influence the way we live our lives, whether negatively or positively. Our choices determine our future outcome.       Be mindful of the things of the flesh and eradicate them from the mind before they manifest. When your thoughts are occupied w...

God's Goodness

Image
Good morning Testimony - God's Goodness But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: 1 Peter 3:15 Worship song: Because of Who You Are   Testimony:      As I take a moment to reflect on life and analyze various situations, I am confident in proclaiming that God has been undeniably faithful and his goodness is beyond measure. We often complain about the insignificant stuff and overlook the countless blessings bestowed by our faithful God. Look a little deeper, and you will realize there is so much to be grateful for and thank God for. I acknowledge God's role in my life and express my sincere gratitude. Despite the unforeseen challenges that test my faith, God continually proves His faithfulness, leaving me astonished. Whenever I felt overwhelmed by my circumstances and anxious about the unexpected, God reminded me that he is always i...

Pulling Down Strongholds

Image
Good morning Day of prayer - Pulling Down Strongholds   Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16) Worship song: Spirit Pray Let us pray:      Sovereign God, I come boldly to your throne of grace to sacrifice praises and surrender my heart, mind, body, and well-being. Father, I repent of sins known and unknown and ask that you cleanse and purify my heart of every ungodly thought and desire. Merciful and compassionate Father, we seek your divine direction and trust that you will take authority over the affairs of our hearts, O God. In the mighty name of Jesus, I command every stronghold that limits our potential, hinders spiritual growth, and disrupts our relationship with you to be broken.       Through the power that you have bestowed upon us, we claim freedom from negative influences, fear, addiction, immorality, disobedience, delay, suicidal...

A Father's Love

Image
Happy Father’s Day Good morning Scripture reading: St. Luke 15:11-32 Song: How Deep the Father’s Love for Us   Meditation:      The intriguing narrative, recorded in St. Luke 15, highlights the unconditional love and sincere compassion of a father for his children. The younger son's disrespectful request for his inheritance and his reckless lifestyle choices made his father's arms open wide to receive him. His father taught him moral principles, but all that he had learned was overshadowed by the extravagant lifestyle he adopted in the foreign country. Destitute, empty, and broken, he returned to his father, who was waiting in anticipation for his return. The father, overwhelmed with joy and gladness, forgave and welcomed his son home.       This is a typical example of God's unconditional love for us. God's love is extended to you whether you are a backslider, sinner, atheist, believer, or unbeliever. He loves you sincerely but hates ...

The Power of Love

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. John 3:14-21 Praise song: If that isn't love   Meditation:      Love, expressed appropriately, can significantly impact our behavior, well-being, and ability to connect with others. Love is the most powerful gift to humans, which is a complex force much deeper than emotional or physical attraction. Love is patient, compassionate, and kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, and it is not proud. Love does not dishonor others; it is not self-seeking; it is not easily angered; and it keeps no record of wrongs. It is a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person. Love endures and overcomes every challenge and grows stronger through adversity.       The true power of love was demonstrated by Jesus Christ, who expressed His unlimited, matchless love for humanity by sacrificing His life for us. Jesus' love is greater than any you can find. He came to earth in the form of flesh, walked among s...

The Report

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Numbers 13 Worship song: Whose Report Will You Believe   Meditation:      According to the LSD Law, the term 'majority rules' is a powerful decision-making principle in various contexts, especially in election proceedings, to determine the outcome. However, this method was not a principle used in the story of the twelve representatives sent to survey the land of Canaan.       In this instance, it was the minority's report that shaped the Israelites' destiny. Moses sought essential insights about the land and the inhabitants so he could fulfill his God-given mission. For Moses to make informed, effective decisions, knowing the structure of the land, the power, and the strength of the people was crucial.       If you have received a report that is not favorable and it causes you to fear the inevitable, remember God is in control and he has the final say. Trust God's sovereignty, for he co...

The Scars That Never Fade

Image
Good morning Scripture Reading: Isaiah 61:1-3 Worship Song: When His Wounded Hands...   Meditation:      Visible scars on our bodies serve as a powerful reminder of the wounds we have endured from painful experiences. They testify to our resilience and strength as survivors. They reflect not only the struggles we faced but also remind us that we have triumphed over them.       Unlike many scars we bear, the scars of Jesus are not the result of accident or wrongdoing. The scars on His hands, feet, and side represent the nail scars of profound injustice he willingly endured for humanity. He endures the pain and agony of nails hammering through him for our sake. He was wounded and afflicted for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, and bore every stripe for spiritual, emotional, and physical healing. Because of His ultimate sacrifice, we have the opportunity to live eternally.       To reject Jesus Christ is to...

I Am Not Eloquent

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Exodus 4:1-15 Worship song: He'll Make a Way   Meditation:      When God called Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, he expressed to God his lack of eloquence and speech impairment. God assures Moses that he will put words in his mouth, but even after being assured, Moses still hesitated. God emphasizes his control and supreme power over humanity with the unwavering ability to intervene and resolve speech, vision, and hearing impairment. Like Moses, many of us often focus on our limitations instead of the God who specializes in turning impossibilities into realities. We have the tendency to seek validation, and affirmation from those around us, but we must remember that not everything we do needs justification from others.       Moses, on his first mission, thought it was not accomplished because the remarks of the Israelites were unfavorable. Remember, if God declares something is possible, it is wise...

Jesus Christ To the Rescue

Image
Good morning Scripture Reading: Romans 5 Worship Song: Rescue   Meditation:      The struggles of life can be overwhelming at times and leave behind a trail of bittersweet memories. Heartaches, broken pieces, shattered dreams, and ruined lives are the reasons Christ died on Calvary's cross. Jesus Christ came to rescue sinners from the bondage of our iniquities and the stronghold of our captors and to bring light to a dark world. He came that we might have life and have it more abundantly.       Jesus Christ came not to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved. He chose to die and endured chastisement to demonstrate his love for sinners. He came to seek and save the lost, to preach repentance to sinners, to serve, to fulfill the laws and the prophets, and to bring assurance to a hopeless world. Jesus came to rescue us, so let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Jesus Christ has left His peace with ...

Signs of The Time

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Matthew 24 Worship song: Hymn of Heaven   Meditation:      For thousands of years, believers in Jesus Christ have eagerly anticipated his second coming. Even though none of us know the exact hour or the day of his return, there is evidence that proves we are living in the last days. A careful examination of the scripture reveals that some prophecies regarding his return are already fulfilled and are actively being fulfilled in our time. The rapid advancement of technology and its usefulness have created an opportunity for spreading the gospel across various media platforms, reaching nations that previously lacked access to His word.       We are witnessing an increase in conflicts among nations, with wars and escalating tensions leading to rumors of war in various regions. Reports of diseases, earthquakes, and famines in diverse places abound. The love of many has waxed cold, and false prophets are on the ...

The Roller Coaster Ride

Image
Good morning Scripture Reading: Psalm 30 Worship Song: Hallelujah Train  Me ditation:      Are you facing unexpected challenges? Is everything you anticipated to accomplish working according to how you fathom it? Are you hoping to achieve the best life has to offer? We all have great expectations and want to reach the pinnacle of life, but to get there we have to learn from experience and move beyond our mistakes and failures. Life is like a roller coaster with many ups and downs, highs and lows, twists and turns, hindrances, and challenges.       Life has its moments when everything is booming and a time when everything is falling apart. Life is like a suspense movie or untold story; you cannot predict the next scene, but move forward with gratitude, believing that the next episode of your journey will pave the way and lead you closer to your destiny. Believe that the faithful promise-keeping God will always make a way through the wildern...

Feeling Discouraged

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Joshua 1:1-9 Worship Song: The Sun Will Shine Again   Meditation:      To be discouraged is to feel deprived of hope, courage, and confidence, or to feel disheartened. Discouragement is something that we encounter daily, which can negatively impact us due to our lack of confidence in ourselves or God and lack of hope for the future. It can deeply affect our emotions, spiritual, and physical well-being. Don't be disheartened when you feel discouraged; you are not alone, for even the faithful servants of God become discouraged at times. After the death of Moses, God commanded Joshua to be strong, courageous, and not to be dismayed or afraid. Joshua needed that reassurance to lead the people to the promised land.       In Deuteronomy 31 and Joshua 1, God encourages us to be strong and courageous. He reassures us not to be afraid because He will be with us every step of the way. When you feel discouraged, find...

The Grand Reunion

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Genesis 46 Worship song: We Are United   Meditation:      Jacob experienced deep sorrow for many years, convinced that his beloved son had died. His heart was heavy with grief, and his countenance changed so drastically that he could not be consoled. However, when he received the astonishing news that his son, Joseph, was actually alive, dwelt in Egypt, and was the governor of Pharaoh's estate, his spirit was rejuvenated. He was greatly cheered and strengthened by the glad tidings, and immediately prepared for the journey to Egypt, for he wanted to see Joseph before he died. The joy Jacob felt in that moment was awesome, and the reunion with his son, who was presumed dead, was miraculous.       Typically, a family reunion is a planned event, but this one happened unexpectedly. Jacob never dreamed he would be blessed with this marvelous opportunity to embrace his long-lost son again. These moments of reconn...

Testimony of His Goodness

Image
Good Morning Scripture Reading: Exodus 15:1-21 Worship Song: I Will Testify   Meditation:      A jubilee erupted in the camp of the Israelites as they proclaimed their praises to the Lord for delivering them from their enemies. The pursuing enemies drowned in the Red Sea when the waters returned, marking a definitive win for the Israelites. For over four hundred years, the Israelites suffered under the repression of Pharaoh and his taskmasters. They exalted the Lord for his goodness, expressing heartfelt thanks and praises for their miraculous deliverance from oppression. The Israelites recognized the goodness and greatness of God and therefore showed their appreciation through singing. The victory of God at the Red Sea stands as a powerful testament to God's faithfulness in fulfilling His promises to Israel.       Are you among those who have experienced God's guaranteed fulfillment of His purpose in your life? When there is a shift in yo...

God Inhabits Our Praises

Image
Good morning Scripture Reading: Psalm 100 Worship Song: Every Praise   Meditation:      Throughout the scriptures and especially in the book of the Psalms, we are commanded and encouraged to praise God. Psalm 159:6   says, Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise is the expression of respect, approval, and gratitude as an act of worship. There are many grounds on which praises should be offered, but in everything, no matter the circumstances, whether favorable or unfavorable, whether sorrow or joy, rich or poor, sickness or health, death or life, pain or pleasure, we are asked to give thanks and praises unto God. When the praises go up, the blessings will come down, so let us exalt the Lord at all times and let praise be always on our lips.       Let us therefore give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, and make known his noble deeds among the people. Tell of the marvelous and wonderous work he has done...

Taking Responsibility

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Genesis 3:1-13 Worship song: I Surrender   Meditation:      The lack of accountability is one of the contributing factors that leads to conflict, especially in relationships. When individuals fail to take responsibility for their actions, it can lead to mistrust and hinder the ability to resolve issues effectively. Rather than taking responsibility for his disobedience, Adam attempted to shift the blame to Eve. Eve, in turn, blames the serpent for beguiling her.       Shifting the blame mechanism to avoid punishment only creates animosity, fosters resentment, and erodes trust. Blame shifting still exists in today's society. Individuals are likely to blame others for problems rather than take responsibility for their own actions. Galatians 6:5 informs us that individuals will be judged based on their own actions and deeds, not the actions of others. Many innocent persons have been punished for deeds th...

You Are Not Forgotten

Image
Good Morning Scripture reading: Isaiah 49:14-16 Worship song: I Am Not Forgotten   Meditation:      In times of hardship, struggles, and seemingly undeserved punishment, it is natural to wrestle with feelings of abandonment. The Israelites expressed this deep concern of neglect, believing their cries were disregarded by God. They felt utterly cast aside and assumed God's silence meant his anger was directed at them. Despite their cries for help, God did not immediately respond. In agony, they waited in anguish, bewailing their relentless situation, expecting swift rescue. Yet, God powerfully reassures them by informing them he has engraved them on the palms of his hands. He compared his unwavering love to a mother's love for her child, emphasizing that while human compassion may falter, His love is steadfast and eternal.       You may sometimes feel forgotten by God but rest assured God has not forgotten you. He knows exactly where and w...
