Taking Responsibility
Good morning
Scripture reading: Genesis 3:1-13
Worship song: I Surrender
Meditation:
The lack of accountability is one of the contributing factors that leads to conflict, especially in relationships. When individuals fail to take responsibility for their actions, it can lead to mistrust and hinder the ability to resolve issues effectively. Rather than taking responsibility for his disobedience, Adam attempted to shift the blame to Eve. Eve, in turn, blames the serpent for beguiling her.
Shifting the blame mechanism to avoid punishment only creates animosity, fosters resentment, and erodes trust. Blame shifting still exists in today's society. Individuals are likely to blame others for problems rather than take responsibility for their own actions. Galatians 6:5 informs us that individuals will be judged based on their own actions and deeds, not the actions of others. Many innocent persons have been punished for deeds they have not committed all because of someone's lack of accountability.
Whenever you decide to shift the blame, think
about the drastic impact it will have on someone innocent. Let us be
accountable for our actions, for we shall appear before the judgment seat of
Christ to give an account of our actions, whether they be good or evil.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, please accept glory, honor, and praise
as we offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto you this morning. Righteous Judge,
we stand accused before you for our lack of accountability. We seek your
forgiveness for we are guilty of shifting the blame to others instead of
accepting responsibility. Pardon us, O God, for the times we have wrongfully
accused others of our acts of disobedience. Forgive us, Lord, for the blame
mechanism we used to avoid punishment for our deeds. We seek daily cleansing
and purification of our hearts and minds, O God. We express our gratitude to
you for extending mercy to those of us who have been falsely accused due to the
lack of accountability of others. We seek your help and divine intervention,
Lord God, for we have all sinned and fallen short of your perfect standard.
Guide us, Heavenly Father, to live according to your standards in the name of
Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.
Have a peaceful day. ✌🙏
Blessed morning. God is faithful. If God is for me.Who can stand against me. No weapon shall prosper. When God's on my side. If it's just me and Jesus .I still can't be defeated. When my God is with me. I've got the victory.Every time. Loving God, I thank you for being on my side. Your presence brings me comfort and strength. I know I am not alone, and I trust in your guidance and protection. Amen. Stay Blessed. 🙌🏾
ReplyDeleteAs mentioned. Taking responsibility is a key resolve in many situations also the transfer of guilt instead of taking responsibility. This is something everyone must be aware of because too often the guilty walk free and the innocent face undeserved consequences. God bless you my sister for maintaining an active though process. 🙏🙏
