What's On the Inside?

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. Luke 6:43-45 Worship song: From the Inside Out   Meditation:      Have you ever selected something only to realize it is not as effective as you thought it would be? People tend to make choices based on what they see outwardly —physique, beauty, and appearance —and never take the time to analyze the interior. We choose with our eyes, selecting that which appears outwardly appealing, enticing, and attractive. The story of Jesse's son is relatable to everyone because it highlights the universal human tendency to be swayed by a "book's cover" rather than carefully evaluating its actual, underlying "content" or quality. This underscores the importance of thoroughly investigating any situation or person before reaching a final conclusion.       Like Samuel, we are blinded by what appeals to our eyes. Samuel looked at the countenance, the stature, and the height of Jesse's son, but those he selected were rej...

Praising God Regardless

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Colossians 3:15-17 Praise song: Let Praises Rise   Meditation:      I recently watched a video and was mesmerized by the unbelievable scenes of jubilation and the display of enthusiasm portrayed by the children as they worshiped God. They didn't have microphones; they used soda bottles. They didn't have a live band or famous singers; they lifted their voices together and sang to the glory of God. They didn't have musical instruments; they had a makeshift representation of instruments made from plastic and sticks. They didn't worship in a temple, nor did they sit on comfortable, cushioned seats; they sat outdoors on tarpaulins, barefoot, singing praises to God, yet they never murmured or complained.       The children of Uganda teach us a vital lesson about being content with what we have and rejoicing no matter our situation. We are taught to express our appreciation by thanking God and using what He has b...

Hope Amidst Difficulties

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Hebrews 11:1-3 Worship song: There Is Hope in The Lord   Meditation:      Can you maintain hope when all around you seems hopeless, when all you see around you is chaos, disappointment, failures, and discouragement? One of the greatest gifts God has given to us is hope. What is hope? And why should we have hope? Hope is the desire or wish for something to happen. Hope enables us to endure challenges and strive to make a positive impact. Hope increases our assurance and causes us to look at things that take a longer period to accomplish as mere setbacks. Hope increases our confidence, strengthens our beliefs, and causes us to wait patiently with expectancy.       Our hope as believers is built on the unshakeable foundation of God's faithfulness. It is the assured expectation that He is able and will do what He has promised. When faced with the belief that nothing can get better, hope endures by trusting com...

Good Deeds Cannot Override Sin

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Matthew 7:21-23 Song: Grace Will Always Be Greater Than Sin   Meditation:      If each time we do good deeds, they override our sins, many of our sins would remain because our good deeds are either few or nonexistent. Think about how many times you sin per hour and compare it to how many good deeds you do in a day. Sin is primarily conceived and committed in the mind and manifested in our actions. Our salvation is a gift of God’s mercy, achieved through the transformative power of the Holy Spirit enables a profound renewal within us. This inner transformation represents a complete cleansing and transformation, not just an outward change. Through the grace of God, we are declared righteous, granting us the promise of eternal life.       Therefore, sin shall not have dominion over us because we are not under the law but under grace. Where sin has abounded, grace abounds all the more. We are justified freely ...

Abound in Knowledge

Image
Good morning  Scripture reading: 2 Peter 1: 1–10 Worship song: Worthy Meditation:      In addition to staying pure from worldly corruption and being diligent, Peter's letters outline several specific attributes of good stewardship. He advised us to add these attributes to remain fruitful and fertile. The Apostle Peter describes a process for developing spiritual maturity. His guidelines instruct believers to purposefully adopt Christlike characteristics, behave in a righteous and godly manner, use their gifts to serve others, practice cheerful hospitality, and remain humble. We must actively use the resources God has given us to guide our actions and achieve our purpose. The more knowledge we have of God, the closer we get to Him, and the more we learn to apply the steps necessary for spiritual growth, of which the greatest attribute that we need to obtain is love. When we forsake all to follow Christ, the word of God empowers us, and the Holy Spirit equip...

The Throne of Grace

Image
Good morning Scripture: Hebrews 4: 14-16 Praise song: Bow down and Worship   Meditation:      The high priest alone had the privilege of entering the innermost chamber of the temple once a year, where he offered a sacrifice to God on behalf of himself and the people to atone for their sins. The sacrifices were offered by the high priest, respectively, for himself, the other priests, and the people. The animals offered for the remission of sin had no spots, defects, or blemishes. The priest was given the task of carrying the burden, the heavy weight, and the iniquities of the people before the throne of grace.       This responsibility changed when Jesus Christ came and sacrificed himself for the atonement of our sins. Through Christ, the role of the priest as an intercessor has been abolished, and everyone now has direct unlimited access to God's grace. Therefore, let us accept this golden opportunity with gratitude, come boldly to the t...

Better Awaits You

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Revelation 21 Praise song: Jerusalem   Meditation:      This world is unpredictable and full of trials, sadness, and disappointment; nevertheless, we hold onto the divine promise of a restored life through our Lord. A time is coming when suffering will cease, and God will bring an end to all sorrow, sickness, and death. While we look forward to the future, our focus should be on serving God fully and living his way. This life is a journey, not our final destination. For those who place their trust and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, eternal life is assured. The dead in Christ shall rise first, and those who are alive when he shall return shall be caught up together in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and be with him forever.       As we serve the Lord with gladness, and worship Him in spirit and truth, let us be prepared to meet Him. If you have not yet received Jesus Christ as your Saviour, do...

Not Satisfied with The Husk

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. Luke 15:11-32 Worship Song: Satisfied   Meditation:      The prodigal son, driven and blinded by his desire for freedom, ultimately faced the harsh truth of his reality, living a life contrary to what he truly valued. Like many of us, he embarked on what he thought was a pursuit of the best life, yet he later discovered that a life lived without Jesus Christ is heavily laden with sin and emptiness. Too often, we find ourselves comfortable in our struggles, settling for the husk of our poor choices instead of embracing the divine grand cuisine that the Lord has prepared for us. How much longer will you remain unaware that the Almighty Father stands ready to welcome you home? God values you more than any career or material gain.       The life you crave, one of true purpose, is found with Christ. There is immense joy in heaven whenever someone decides to leave a life of sin behind. If you are weary of st...
