God's Covenant with Humans

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Genesis 9: 8-17 Worship song: Covenant Keeping God   Meditation:      Sin among men was so prevalent and blatant that God decided to wipe out the entire nation. But, although His wrath was kindled because of man's rebellion, and though He regretted making man, he didn't destroy them all because one man makes a difference. Noah and his family were preserved from the Great Flood because of Noah's righteousness and obedience to God's commands. The Bible describes Noah as a righteous man, blameless in his generation, who walked faithfully with God. Therefore, after the flood, which wiped out the entire nation, God established a covenant with Noah.       The covenant God made with Noah affirms His commitment to creation. God's covenant is a demonstration of His love for his creation uttered through His spoken words as a promise never again to destroy all living creatures from the face of the earth by the waters...

Come and Dine

Image
Good morning Scripture: St. John 21: 1-13 Praise song: What a Lovely Name   Meditation:      The story of Jesus inviting the disciples to come and dine reminded me of times as kids when we would be outside playing, and our mother would interrupt our fun by calling us to come inside, saying dinner is ready. While the disciples were busy fishing, Jesus was preparing roast fish and bread for breakfast. The disciples were invited by Jesus to come and dine with Him shortly after he had suggested that they cast their net on the other side. To dine with the master was a great opportunity for fellowship and communion, far exceeding a mere social invitation; it signified being invited to share a meal at the same table in his presence. This suggests a deep, intimate connection and affiliation with the host, extending beyond a simple provision of sustenance.       Come and dine is a time to fellowship with Jesus. Come, partake in the divi...

The Water That Purifies

Image
Good morning Scripture reading:  St. John 4:13-14 Worship song: Let Your Living Water   Meditation:      Jesus Christ reveals himself as the fountain of living water. He is also the source of everlasting life. Christ is an ever-flowing fountain; he is continually supplying his people, and the fountain is not spent. Because of His great love and mercy, God gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to be our fountain of the water of life and supplier of eternal life. Jesus promised to give everyone who is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely, and out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. The rivers of living water symbolize the Holy Spirit that Jesus Christ promised those who believe in him will receive. The faithful who adhered to his commandments are eternally nourished by the pure water from the fountainhead. Those who forsake Him have hewn them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.       The broken cist...

Nothing Can Separate Us

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Isaiah 59:1-8 Worship song: Nothing Can Separate   Meditation:      The love of Christ is limitless; it does not come with any condition; therefore, it does not depend on our actions or character. There is nothing we can do to diminish or destroy his love for us, and nothing can separate us from his love. Apostle Paul in Romans 8 proclaims that no one can separate us from the love of Christ, not even tribulation, persecution, famine, death, or angels. Though it is not possible to change how much God loves us, we can cause God to turn his face away from us. God turned his face away, not because he no longer loves us, but because our hearts are corrupt and filled with evil deeds.        Our sins and iniquities separate us from the Holy God because he does not tolerate sin. We become separated from God when our hands are defiled with the blood of the innocent, when our lips speak lies, when we meddle in misch...

Knit Together in Love

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Colossians 2:1-8 Worship song: Lead Me O Lead Me   Meditation:      Apostle Paul was deeply concerned about the spiritual well-being of all believers. He was aware that traditional human practices and rituals seemed spiritual but were not rooted in Christ's teachings. Paul's concern extended specifically to the believers in the Colossian church and Laodicea, as well as others he had never personally encountered, who were being influenced and misled by false teachers.       As a teacher of the gospel of Christ, Paul's relentless efforts were dedicated to guiding believers, and helping them understand God's truth, urging them to build their faith in Christ so they would not be misled by human rules, experiences, or false teachings. Paul's protection of believers is a demonstration that true spiritual stewardship requires leaders to extend the same genuine care to others' souls as they do their own, especiall...

The Essential Role

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Ephesians 6:1-9 Worship song: Teach Me to Obey   Meditation:      The Apostle Paul, in his sixth epistle to the Ephesians, addresses the household and how believers should live their lives in light of salvation. He specifically addresses the responsibility within the family structure, urging respect, obedience, and adherence to instructions. Paul highlights the essential role of instilling biblical principles, particularly encouraging fathers to guide their children with love and wisdom.       Children are encouraged to honor and respect their parents, aligning their behavior with godly authority. Children's obedience to parents and servants to their masters should be motivated by the desire to honor God and live by his precepts. Likewise, the master should treat their servant with respect, justice, fairness, and kindness, knowing they have to answer to their heavenly Master. Let your conduct be honorable ...

At The Checkpoint

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: 1 Cor. 11:28-31 Worship song:  I Give You My Heart   Meditation:      During 2020, several military checkpoints were established in different areas under enhanced security measures to intercept the free movement of criminals. The things exposed during scrutiny at a checkpoint are quite alarming. A checkpoint is a barrier or manned entrance, typically at a border, where travelers are subject to security checks. It is also a place where vehicles are examined.       Jesus Christ has established a checkpoint, and daily we are scrutinized by our Lord Jesus Christ. All our deeds, thoughts, and actions are recorded, whether they are good or evil. It is our personal responsibility to ensure our lives align with the divine requirements of our Lord. This requires examining our hearts, minds, lifestyles, and spiritual connections to ensure they align with God's will. We must confess our sins and repent daily to ...

God Favored Me

Image
Good morning Day of Testimony- God Favored Me I  will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee. Psalms 22:22 Worship song: I Will Say of The Lord   My Testimony:      Although I accepted Jesus Christ in my teenage years, I did not know what it meant to genuinely serve Him. I broke my covenant with Christ, but after several years of wandering through the wilderness, I came to realize that my life is meaningless without Him. Now I am walking in newness of life with Christ as my anchor and my rock. I draw strength from the divine assurance that I am never alone, even amidst the toughest struggles.       When I remember the price Christ paid for my redemption, and when I remember that the broad road leads to destruction, I must fight the good fight of faith, hold firm to God's promise of eternal life, whereunto I am called, and have publicly professed before many witnesses. Looking back, m...
