The Water That Purifies
Good morning
Scripture reading: St. John 4:13-14
Worship song: Let Your Living Water
Meditation:
Jesus Christ reveals himself as the fountain of living water. He is also the source of everlasting life. Christ is an ever-flowing fountain; he is continually supplying his people, and the fountain is not spent. Because of His great love and mercy, God gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to be our fountain of the water of life and supplier of eternal life. Jesus promised to give everyone who is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely, and out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. The rivers of living water symbolize the Holy Spirit that Jesus Christ promised those who believe in him will receive. The faithful who adhered to his commandments are eternally nourished by the pure water from the fountainhead. Those who forsake Him have hewn them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
The
broken cisterns are the idols we turn to, the things we rely on to satisfy our
fleshly desires instead of turning to Jesus, who can supply all our
needs. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his
belly shall flow rivers of living water. We have a choice to make; we can
either reject Jesus Christ, the fountain of life, or choose the broken cistern.
The Spirit and the Bride extend a free invitation to all: if you hear and
you're thirsty, come and receive the life-giving water. (Revelation 22:17)
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, my soul thirsts for you in this dry
and thirsty land. Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me this morning;
fill me with fresh grace; sustain me, O God, from the fountain that never runs
dry. Almighty God, remove from me this cistern that is broken, empty, and void.
Allow, O God, your living water to flow within me like a spring that never
shall run dry. Almighty God, as I seek to understand and follow your precepts,
guide my path according to your word. Lord, direct my actions and allow the
Holy Spirit to lead me in a life of holiness and righteousness. Thank you, Lord
God, for wisdom and understanding to interpret Your word and for giving us the
Holy Spirit, the Comforter who abides with us forever. Empower us through the
Holy Spirit, O God, that we may do that which you require of us in the name of
Jesus Christ. Amen.
Wishing you a blessed day. 💕🙏
