How Many Times

Good morning

Scripture reading: St. Luke 22:55-60

Worship song: Calling My Name

Meditation:

During the feast of unleavened bread, with his disciples, Jesus informed his followers that the devil desired to sift Peter as wheat, but He prayed for him so he would not lose faith. Peter later crumbled in the face of pressure, valuing his safety over loyalty to his master. Peter's faith was put to the test, but he failed, hung his head in shame, and wept bitterly. Peter was chosen to walk daily with the Lord, yet at the appointed time, when he should stand with Jesus, instead, he became fearful of being prosecuted. He denied Jesus, not once but three times. Jesus, however, restored him fully, thus setting him on the path to be used powerfully. Peter gained his composure, rose up in victory, and did the master's will. When he was converted, he became the tower of strength for his brethren. Like Peter, many have denied Jesus Christ, not once, not twice, but many times. Each time you heard the word of God, you heard about Jesus Christ and refused to surrender to him; you have denied Him. Each time you heard his voice and hardened your heart, you denied him. Should you hear a message that contradicts your way of life and your sinful lifestyle, and you choose not to surrender, you are rejecting Jesus Christ.

Let us pray:

Almighty God, in my weakness, I cry unto you, O Lord, to strengthen me and increase my faith, less in the midst of adversity and affliction I crumble when faced with trials and temptations. Our Father and our God, again, I ask that you help me in frailty to understand the word of God. Father of grace and mercy, speak not only to my mind but also to my soul, that I may hide these words in my heart that I sin not against you. Almighty God, I pray that as I encounter the storms of life, I will remain steadfast, focused, and unmovable. I pray, dear Father, that absolutely nothing will divert me or any yoke fellowmen from the path of righteousness. I am grateful, Almighty God, that your only begotten son has prayed for us that we can triumph over every scheme and stronghold of the enemy. Father, I believe that you are still in control and that all power belongs to you, so God, I surrender all to you and give you authority and control over my mind, heart, and soul. Pour fresh oil into my spirit and enough grace needed to function according to your desire in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.

Have a blessed and peaceful day. Be safe. 🙏🙏💪
