Get it right
Good morning
Scripture reading: St. Matthew 5:17-48
Worship song: Make It Right

Meditation:
Have you heard the saying that "things and time change, and what applied and worked for past generations does not work for today's generation"? Even if there is any truth to that, the Word of God remains unchanged; it never changes, and His law remains the same. The Constitution of Jamaica or any other country can be amended or appealed, but the Bible cannot be altered or revoked; its truth is permanent and eternal. As verse 18 states: "Till heaven and earth pass, not one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. This clearly shows that God's law is unwavering and all generations are called to uphold it; they are expected to abide by and adhere to the word of God.
The Bible also teaches that to enter heaven, our righteousness should surpass that of the Scribes and Pharisees. These religious leaders appeared righteous to men, but inwardly they were filled with iniquities and uncleanness. They focused more on religion, obeying rules and laws, than genuinely living a righteous life (Matthew 23).
True righteousness is not something earned through religious works, bought by charitable giving, or earned by good deeds. It is a gift received by grace through faith in Christ Jesus and willingness to align with His will.
Let us pray:
Omnipresent and Omniscient God, the only wise Creator, guide
us back to the foundation of life, O God, when we hungered to hear Your spoken
words. Lead us, Heavenly Father, to that place where listening to and living by
Your words was our number one priority. Almighty God, take us to where we once
feared and trembled at even the very mention of Your name. Humble us, like
little children, Mighty God, for of such is Your kingdom. Almighty God, we
desire to live a life pure and holy, committed to doing Your will. Open our
eyes to see the wrongs and make a change. Convict our hearts, Heavenly Father,
and draw us back to You, O God. Cleanse and purify us from deep within so Your
light can shine outward. Extend Your mercies unto us and renew a right spirit
within us. In the precious name of Jesus Christ, our soon-coming King. Amen.
Wishing you a day filled with joy. 💞👏🙏
It is very important to allow a young heart to be established in the truth and righteousness very early. When something other that the truth starts to take root it is very hard to root it up and by so doing affect the proper growth of the plant or the individual. Many people today were not taught the truth, thus the difficulty they face today but with God all things are possible. For your devotions many will read and some won't but like a sower, keep sowing. Blessings. 🙏🙏
