Bound by Shackles

Good morning

Scripture reading: Mark 5:1-20

Praise song: Shackles Are Broken

Meditation;

    Several years ago, the Court Administration Division (CAD) summoned me to serve as a juror. Nothing has touched me more deeply than seeing prisoners entering the courtroom chained together with shackles on their hands and feet. In that moment, I realized that serving in such a role was not something I was mentally prepared to do, so I kindly petitioned to be excused.

    Observing the state of confinement prompted me to ponder the shackles that have restricted us spiritually. I reflected on the factors we permitted to dominate our minds and hinder us from experiencing the freedom and blessings of Almighty God. Emotional pain, stress, poor choices, or guilt can leave us feeling trapped and isolated.

    When these heavy chains hinder us from living fully or connecting with others, remember that faith in Jesus has the power to break those bonds and bring freedom. Jesus can break through the fetters and chains that hold us captive. Whatever burden you carry, bring it to Jesus; your burdens He will bear. Rest assured, true relief from any form of captivity and confinement is found in Jesus, the only source of peace and comfort.

 Let us pray:

    Merciful, loving Savior, our Redeemer and friend, I look to you this morning, O God, with a desire, a heart full of hope. We humbly ask You, O God, to free us from the emotional shackles that weigh us down, from the stronghold that entraps our minds and hearts, and from the fetters and the chains that held us hostage. Father, we seek refuge in You, crying out for deliverance and freedom. We beseech You, Almighty God, to take away the shackles, anything that controls our minds and hearts, so we can praise You freely and worship You in spirit and truth. Father, break us free from the darkness of unclean and deceptive spirits, and from the desires of self-seeking satisfaction. Lead us to a place where we are dependent on You, Lord. Almighty God, we ask that You convict our hearts and grant us a renewed mind, free from spiritual confinement, and make a masterpiece out of us. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.

Wishing you a wonderful day. 💕👏🙏
