Refuge In the Lord
Good morning
Scripture reading: Psalm 46
Worship song: Hide Me Now
Meditation:
In Joshua chapter twenty, there were six cities designated as cities of refuge for those accused of accidental manslaughter without evidence of hatred. Individuals facing such accusations could flee to one of these cities, finding safety and protection from the avenger of blood. However, the accuser would face the death penalty if caught before reaching one of the cities of refuge, or if he left the safety before the death of the reigning priest and before the verdict of the trial. These cities of refuge can somewhat be compared to the opportunities and privileges that sinners have to find refuge and shelter in Jesus Christ.
We can seek refuge in Christ, where we can
escape the wrath of God, the penalty for sin, and the dangers and destruction
that are to come. Only in Jesus Christ are we safe and secure, free from all
harm and danger. Only through Jesus Christ are we privileged to obtain
salvation and freedom from the bondage of sin. Only Jesus can protect us from
the snare of the fowler and the noisome pestilence. Our Saviour, Jesus Christ,
is our refuge and strong tower; only in Him should we trust. If you are fleeing
from the destroyer of souls, from dangers, toils, and snares, from the rulers
of darkness, and you are seeking freedom from the bondage of sins, you can find
refuge in Jesus Christ who is waiting patiently with open arms to welcome you
into his sweet haven.
Let us pray:
Everlasting Father, my fortress and strong tower, I place my
unwavering trust in You. Preserve me, O God, and let me dwell in your presence
all the days of my life. Father, I beseech, O God, that you give your angels
charge over us, safeguarding us from harm, danger, and noisome pestilences.
Protect us from every evil planner and those who conspire against us. Block the
path of those who set traps for our downfall, mighty God. Most importantly,
Lord God, rescue our souls, hearts, and minds from corrupt thoughts and
strongholds. Draw us closer to you, O God, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ
of Nazareth. Amen.
Have a fantastic day. 💞🙏
Bless God
