The Knockout Punch
Good morning
Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 4:7-11
Worship Song: Broken Pieces
Meditation:
I was never amused by the punches delivered in a boxing ring, as I see it as cruel. The thought of willingly subjecting oneself to cuts, bruises, and pain is difficult to comprehend. What is more troubling is when the contenders were knocked out and appeared helpless, unable to get back on their feet within the expected time allotted by the referee. However, I have learnt that every contender enters the ring with a clear goal: to win, defend their title, or reclaim it.
Reflecting on the many knockouts in the boxing rings diverts my thoughts to the reality of our spiritual battles. While the devil may knock us down, Jesus Christ, our referee, is always ready to revive us. We may lose count of how many times we have been knocked down, but we rise again. The devil expects us to remain defeated, so he can win and conform us to his will, but Jesus, our Redeemer, always comes to our rescue. The enemy thrives on our struggles, hoping to defeat us, but consider his attacks as a temporary setback and not a permanent state of ruin or collapse.
Blessed are
you who endure temptation, for when you are tried, you shall receive the crown
of life, promised by the Lord to those who love him. As contenders in the
Lord's arena, we don't face unanimous defeat; instead, we find strength in the
Lord when we encounter weakness.
Let us pray:
Everlasting Father, mighty warrior, great in battle, and
defender of the weak, I magnify and worship you. Almighty God, I recognize that
our struggles are not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual wickedness
in high places. Abba Father, as we equip ourselves with the full armor, I
declare that nothing will hinder us from holding firmly to our faith in the
evil days. Almighty God, as contenders seeking to defend and maintain our
identity as your children, empower us to stand strong on your word, and not be
consumed by the enemy or knocked out. Anchor our souls in you, Lord Jesus, and
keep us safe and secure through your strength in the name of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
Wishing you a victorious day. 💕🙏
God bless you richly. Continue to draw attention to example that are relatable. Jesus use parables and they are so impacting. As your thoughts remain active. May the Lord continues to fill you up. Blessings.
