Divine Favour Like a Shield

Scripture reading: Proverbs 8:32-36

Worship song: Favour

Meditation:

Divine favour is God's freely given unmerited kindness, grace, and blessing not earned

by works but given to those who faithfully walk with Him. Saved by grace through faith,

not works, believers receive favour from God. Noah, among many other prominent

figures mentioned in biblical teachings, found favour with God. In a generation defined

by ungodliness, Noah's upright walk with God set him apart, and he found grace in

God's eyes. God promises to bless and protect those who live righteously, surrounding

them with His divine favor like a shield (Psalms 5:12). Not every opportunity presented

to us aligns with our core principles. Although opportunities present themselves, we

must be selective, ensuring that they align with our beliefs. A notable example is found

in the biblical account of Joseph, who refused a morally compromising proposition from

his master Potiphar's wife. Although his decision led to him being falsely accused and

imprisoned, his integrity was ultimately rewarded by divine favor. By refusing to

jeopardize his integrity, Joseph experienced God's unmerited favour, elevating him from

prison to a position of power. As God's stewards, let us walk in holiness and truth,

seizing every opportunity to fulfill His purpose and honor Him with our lives.

Let us pray:

Almighty God, we express our gratitude for Your divine word, which provides wisdom

and clarity. We thank you, Lord God, for your gift of the spirit of discernment. We pray, O

God, that our actions, deeds, and thoughts are aligned with your divine will. Lord, may

we acknowledge You in all our actions and decisions, forsaking our own understanding,

so You can direct our steps and lead us on the right path. Almighty God, we seek to

make the best use of every opportunity, acting wisely, and living purposefully for your

glory. Guide our steps, O God, to live a life pleasing to You, that we may be vessels of

honor for Your divine favor and purposes in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Wishing you a joyful day.
