Loose And Set Free

Good morning

Scripture reading: St. Luke 13:10-17

Worship song: I'm Free

Meditation:

Jesus interrupted the routine on the Sabbath day to provide both physical and spiritual freedom to a woman who had been bound by infirmities for eighteen (18) years. Instead of rejoicing over her miraculous healing, the synagogue leaders criticized Jesus for ministering healing on the Sabbath. Jesus revealed their hypocrisy by pointing out that if they can overlook their religious ritual to show mercy to their livestock on the Sabbath, they should likewise show compassion for a suffering individual. Jesus exemplified compassion, mercy, and grace through His healing ministry and ongoing miracles.

By healing on the Sabbath, Jesus asserted His authority over it, for the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath day (St. Matthew 12:8). Jesus reminds us that the sabbath is a day of rest, liberation, and grace.

Like the woman in the synagogue, many individuals enter the synagogue seeking relief, yet they leave with the same ailments they arrived with, bound by infirmities. As those who partake freely from the well of divine grace, we are called to examine our true motives. Are we placing strict religious traditions above the needs of human suffering?

Let us pray:

Merciful, wonderful Savior, blessed Redeemer, and friend, we thank You for Your demonstration of compassion and mercy towards those afflicted by infirmities. Lord, assist us in extending mercy, kindness, empathy, and compassion to the needy, wounded, and suffering, especially those bound by infirmities. Grant us hearts that care for the broken and abandoned. Instead of focusing solely on mere religious ritual, guide our hearts to offer assistance to the helpless. Father, we also surrender unto You every area of our lives that is bound by infirmity, and we ask that You break every bondage that holds us captive. Destroy every invisible chain that paralyzes us, and liberate us from all strongholds. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wishing you a joyful day. 👏💗🙏
