Who are Thine Accusers?
Good morning
Scripture reading: St. John 8: 1-11
Worship song: At Your Feet
Meditation:
The Scribes and Pharisees presented a woman to Jesus Christ, accusing her of adultery. They anticipated that Jesus would endorse her punishment by stoning which was the accepted consequence for such a sin. However, Jesus responded by inviting the one without sin to cast the first stone. Acknowledging their own guilt and embarrassed by their folly, her accusers slowly walked away, unable to condemn her in the presence of the Lord. This story highlights the human tendency to recognize the faults and mistakes in others yet fail to address their own iniquities and imperfections.
As communicated in Matthew 7 we must examine and address our own sins, make our slates clean before attempting to assist others with their transgressions. We cannot accuse others while sin resides within us. After all the accusers left, and there was none to condemn her, Jesus assured the woman that she was condemned. He assured her she is free and encouraged her to go forth and sin no more. If we fall into the categories of false accusers, fault-finders, or condemn others because of their iniquities or sins, it is essential that we first reflect on our lifestyle and behavior. We must earnestly seek God's forgiveness and cleansing for any corruption or sin we harbor in our hearts. The principle of divine justice teaches us that the measure we use to judge others will be measured to us in return.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in worship and
adoration, recognizing you are worthy of all honor. We express unwavering
gratitude for your wisdom and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Comforter
who leads us along the path of righteousness. Almighty God, we confess and
repent of any false accusations or judgments we have made without cause. Lord,
please forgive us for ignoring the plank in our eyes, while identifying the
beam that is in the eyes of others. May we extend mercy, instead of condemnation.
Purge us with hyssop, Almighty God, and cleanse our hearts from every sin.
Spare us from your wrath, O God, and deliver us from presumptuous sins and
false accusations in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.
Keep safe and enjoy God's blessings. 💕🙏
