Feeding on Cotton Candy

Good morning

Scripture reading: Isaiah 55:1-3

Worship song: Give Me You

Meditation:

Cotton candy, also known as fairy floss or candy floss, is a confection made primarily of sugar, artificial coloring, and mostly air. This type of candy has no nutritional value, yet its sweet, sugary, tasty flavor dissolves in your mouth, tempting individuals to consume more. Modern Christian teachings are frequently likened to spiritual cotton candy that is sweetly sugar-coated, entertaining, and appeals to one's intellect rather than genuinely convicts the conscience. These messages tend to be filled with self-satisfaction and gratification. They offer immediate pleasure but lack substantive spiritual value or nourishment for the soul.

The church is diverting from its fundamental principles, misinterpreting scriptures to justify worldly living, and ignoring sinful behavior for the sake of personal gain, such as wealth, recognition, and power. These modern-style messages leave their ardent listeners with inadequate room for soul searching as their unyielding hearts are quenched merely by the teachings of gaining wealth instead of spiritual health. There is no room for complacency in the kingdom of God.

We need to return to the fundamental principles of moral Christian teachings when sermons pierce the conscience and place a demand on personal surrender. Those divinely appointed to lead must offer teachings that resonate deeply within the soul, inspiring a sincere and total surrender to God's divine will. As deprived sinners in need of a Savior, the ultimate goal is to replace worldly concerns with a spiritual diet that truly feeds, fulfills, and transforms every aspect of our being: heart, mind, body, and soul.

Let us pray:

Almighty God, here is our broken and contrite heart; we ask that you empty us of everything that we have learned contrary to your will and your ways. Lord, we denounce every false teaching that we have registered in our hearts and minds and ask that you allow the Holy Spirit to write your words on the walls of our hearts. Almighty God, may you remove from our thoughts every false doctrine that we have accepted. Father, where your shepherds have failed to lead and guide us, we ask that the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, help us to dissect your word and teach us all that is beneficial for correction, teaching, reproof, and training for righteousness. Lord, we invite you to reign supreme over us and let your word sustain us in our walk with you. Father, allow your undiluted word to convict and pierce our hearts as we listen to sound doctrine. Lord, I express heartfelt gratitude for the steadfast spiritual leaders who continue to guide and lead sinners to repentance. I pray for your continued comprehensive blood coverage and divine guidance for all our committed servants in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wishing you a peaceful day. ✌💕🙏

  1. Consumption is great, but what we consume is important. Our health and well-being depends on our diet, so one have to be particular and deliberate in what one take in. We should always take care of what we eat and put on. ❤️🙏🙏
