My Rock and My Fortress

Good morning

Scripture reading: 2 Samuel 22:1-22

Worship song: Build My Life

Meditation:

King David offered a powerful testimony reflecting on God's unwavering faithfulness in responding to his calls during a distressful period. To highlight his gratitude for God's divine protection, King David recited a victorious psalm of celebration, praising God for delivering him from all his adversaries and dispersing those too mighty for him, including Saul. David glorified God recognizing Him as his fortress, rock, deliverer, shield, refuge, Savior, high tower, and the horn of his salvation.

David's acknowledgment and appreciation for God's divine interception of the enemy's strategies should motivate us and cause us to reflect on the divine work of God in our own lives, prompting us to offer sacrificial praises for God's protection and strength. We too must acknowledge God as our rock and fortress, our strong tower and deliverer. Just as David faithfully obeyed the Lord, we are called to walk faithfully in His ways by keeping our hearts aligned with Him, and trusting that He hears our prayers. For the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears are attentive to their prayers.

Let us pray:

Sovereign Lord, we humbly seek your forgiveness for neglecting to honor and thank you each time you deliver us or intercept the weapons of the enemy. Pardon us, O God, for our lack of gratitude and for failing to acknowledge your supreme power to conquer and bind strongholds. Lord, as your word instructs us in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 to exercise thankfulness in all circumstances, yet we often resort to murmuring and complaining. Almighty God, transform our hearts, change our mindset, renew a right spirit within us, and instill within us a heart full of gratitude. Grant us the spirit of thankfulness and guide us to approach Your presence with thanksgiving and enter Your courts with praise. Teach us to continually give thanks and praise your holy name in all situations through the power of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wishing you a blessed day. 👊💓🙏

  1. He is indeed. This is why life cannot be lived without Him. The kind of wind and storms that blows our way, we would be blown away but thanks be to His safe keeping, we are here.🙏🙏
