Tale of Survival

Good morning

Scripture reading: Acts 27 -28

Worship song: Survivor

Meditation:

On November 8, 2018, Nichole Jolly, a Surgical Nurse was on shift at the Adventist Health Feather River Hospital in Paradise when the Camp Fire broke out. Once all patients were safely out, Jolly fled the facility in her own car. Trapped in thick, choking smoke and flames, Jolly called her husband to share what she thought were her final words. Urged by her husband to get out and run to save her life, she abandoned the car and ran on foot through a perilous landscape of collapsing power lines and burning trees.

Despite surviving multiple near-death experiences and suffering from minor blisters and singed clothing, Jolly chose to return to treat other fire victims. The biblical account of Apostle Paul's shipwreck and Nurse Nichole Jolly's experience reflects an unwavering courage to protect the vulnerable in the face of peril, accompanied by miraculous rescue stories that inspire faith. Paul, aboard his vessel utilized his influence to ensure the safety of the 276 passengers and crew during a deadly storm. Similarly, Nurse Jolly risked her life to evacuate 67 patients from the hospital.

Their profound faith and spiritual resilience served as their steadfast anchor during their darkest moments.

Let us pray:

Sovereign God, I humbly acknowledge that no situation I face is beyond your divine reach or power. I come before You surrendering my well-being into Your hands. I lay down my heavy burdens and lack, trusting that You will supply all my needs according to Your riches and glory. Lord, you are my ultimate provider, and I depend solely on your sustaining grace. Lord, in moments of overwhelming fear and anxiety, be my refuge and calm my restless thoughts. Remind me, Lord, that there is no storm too boisterous that you cannot calm. Replace my worry with Your perfect peace which surpasses all understanding. Strengthen my faith, Lord, and fill me with the assurance that Your power is actively working within me to transform my struggles into victories, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wishing you a peaceful day. 👏🙏💕

  1. Who knoweth the mind of God that they may instruct Him. God does not always deliver us when we need Him most but He is never late always on time. What do we do in those moments. We will have to determine. What lesson is God teaching or what is He trying to perfected in us. Each person's testimony serves a purpose. God must get the glory out of our situations. Be empowered. 🙏🙏
