Whosoever Believeth

Good morning

Scripture reading: St. John 3:14-18

Worship song: I'm Amazed

Meditation:

Driven by a quest for truth Nicodemus approached Jesus seeking answers and clarity. Jesus, in a profound manner,  explained to Nicodemus that one must undergo a spiritual renewal to become part of God's family. Jesus illustrated this point by referring to the bronze serpent in the wilderness as recorded in Numbers 21, where the Israelites were physically dying from poisonous snake bites, and could only survive by fixing their eyes on the raised bronze serpent. Jesus used this example to expound that He must be lifted on the cross to save humanity from the deadly venom of sin.

His teachings in verses 15 and 16 emphasize three essential truths for salvation that should not be overlooked; God’s limitless love, Christ's sacrificial offering, and the promise of eternal life. Salvation is not earned through good deeds, religious status, or human effort but is accessible to whosoever believes and accepts Jesus Christ as the Son of God. The phrase "Whosoever believes in Him" signifies that no individual is excluded from salvation regardless of their sins, iniquities, mistakes, or deeds.

Salvation is granted at the moment an individual renounces their sinful actions and turns to Christ. Jesus assures us that those who belong to God will not perish and will not experience eternal separation from Him. His sacrifice ensures that those who believe in Him are rescued from the ultimate consequence of sin. Eternal life is a divine gift, a promise of everlasting existence in God’s presence, bestowed upon all believers who align their lives with His divine will.

Let us pray:

Everlasting Father, the Prince of peace, our Saviour and Lord, I am profoundly grateful for your divine love manifested through your ultimate sacrifice on Calvary's cross for the remission of our sins. Lord, I am thankful that we are not required to look on a bronze serpent, or offer burnt sacrifices for sin and repentance, but that we can approach your throne of grace with confidence. Father, we believe, accept, and acknowledge you, O God, as our Lord and Savior. We thank you, Lord, for rescuing our souls from the stronghold of sin, and its penalty. Lord, we surrender ourselves entirely to you, trusting your guidance to lead us on the path of righteousness to fulfill your divine purpose. Forgive us of our trespasses, and all our known and unknown sins, Almighty God. Purify our hearts pure from all evil and raise a standard against the plots of the enemy in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wishing you a joyful day. 💕🙌🙏
