They Laughed Him to Scorn
Good morning
Scripture: St. Luke 8:49-56
Worship song: He's able
Meditation:
When facing laughter or ridicule from others, remember not to be discouraged or offended. It is common for individuals not operating at the same spiritual understanding to mock or deride what they cannot discern or comprehend. Their reaction often stems from an inability to perceive the spiritual power at work in your life, not a failing on your part. Jesus Christ was laughed to scorn, not because he failed, but because the people did not know His potential; hence, they lacked faith in Him. Jesus never failed to deliver on His promises, but the people did not know Him, nor did they take the time to observe and learn from Him before ridiculing Him.
They did not know his
capabilities or the power he possessed. When Jesus entered the house of the
synagogue leader and declared that the child was not dead but sleeping, the
mourners ceased lamenting and began to laugh. There is the likely potential
that people will ridicule, mock, and jeer you, but this should not stop you
from exercising your faith in God. Continue to believe in God and trust his
plan. Always remember there are different spiritual levels. There are the
spiritually mature who eat solid food, and there are babes unskilled in the
word of righteousness who feed on only milk. (Hebrews 6:12-14).
Let us pray:
My faithful Father, miracle-working Saviour, matchless in
power and might, I worship and magnify you, O King. Worthy are you, Lord, and
worthy to be praised. Strong, saving, rescuing God, amid our distress, when
life’s waters are raging, grant us the strength of Nehemiah to stand firm in
our faith when we are ridiculed and oppressed. Grant us courage when the storms
are raging, and help us to cleave to You, Lord God. Father, stand by us through
the difficult period when we are surrounded by those who jeer and mock us.
Almighty God, may we never get weary but continue to exercise our faith and
trust you completely when everyone around us laughs and ridicules us. Lord,
guide our hearts and thoughts as we desire to remain steadfast and focus on you
in the name of Jesus Christ our Redeemer. Amen.
Wishing you a blessed day. 💕🙏
Carry on for Jesus every where you go, let the hope and glory be the seed you sow. The lessons of life are learn every day, some are very hard but in the strength of the Lord we shall overcome. 🙏🙏
