Empowered By The Holy Spirit

Good morning

Scripture reading: Acts 2:1-4

Hymn: The Comforter Has Come

Meditation:

Before ascending, Jesus assured His disciples He would not abandon them, promising to send the Holy Spirit, the Comforter. He instructed them to remain in Jerusalem until they were equipped with divine power from heaven to fulfill their mission to preach the gospel. This instruction and their obedience led to the events of Pentecost in Acts 2, where they were filled with the Holy Spirit while they were in the temple, praising and worshipping God. Jesus promised that for those who love and obey Him, the Father would send the Holy Spirit to dwell within them forever, acting as a counselor who teaches truth and brings Christ's words to remembrance.

The Holy Spirit, referred to as the Spirit of truth, abides within believers as a counselor, teacher, and helper, providing wisdom and guidance in all truth, distinguishing between truth and falsehood. He functions as our divine guide, ensuring our ways are always aligned with the will of God. Being led by the Spirit is the identifying mark of a true believer, indicating a changed life, moving from subjection to the powers of sin and death into the liberty of grace.

Let us pray:

Sovereign God, the Alpha and Omega, with a grateful heart I give you thanks for gracing us with the Holy Spirit, the Comforter. I give you thanks, Almighty God, for being our covenant-keeping God and for the Holy Spirit whom you have sent to dwell within our hearts to empower us. I am deeply grateful for the gift of the Holy Spirit, who gently reminds our frail, forgetful minds of Christ's teaching and for providing wisdom and guidance in all truth, to distinguish between truth and falsehood. I give thanks to you, Lord, for providing direction and strength in our daily lives and prompting us to abide by your commands. Almighty God, I surrender my desire, plans, and ways to you and the Holy Spirit, eager to walk in obedience to your divine guidance and live by your commands in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wishing you a blessed day. 🙏💪👏

  1. What would we do or become without the Holy Spirit. Thank God He lives within us. We must rejoice and be glad for all the works He has wrought in us
