Wait I Say, On The Lord
Good morning
Scripture reading: James 5:7-11
Worship song: I Will Wait For You
Meditation:
Patience is a virtue cultivated over time through waiting for a promise to be fulfilled. However, not all individuals possess the gift of patience. Farmers understand patience, understanding firsthand that a harvest cannot be rushed. They rely mostly on timely seasonal rains and divine favor, as they patiently wait for their crops to reach maturity for harvest.
After sowing the seed, the farmer must endure a period of quiet anticipation, a season of growth during which the crops develop to produce fruit. In the same manner, empowered by the Holy Spirit, believers in Christ, are called to wait patiently upon God's timing, exercising endurance much like a diligent farmer.
For believers, a season of waiting signifies a time of expectation during which
we anchor our hearts in God's promises. We nourish our souls with prayer, feast
on the Word of God, and remain steadfast in faith. We are assured daily to rest
in the Lord's divine promises to wait patiently for him, and not to become
weary in our endeavors, for in due season we shall reap our reward, provided we
do not quit. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your
heart.
Let us pray:
Almighty God, with confidence we approach Your mercy seat
boldly, knowing, O God, that You search the heart. We are grateful for the Holy
Spirit and Your Son, Jesus Christ, who intercedes for the saints according to
Your will. With heartfelt gratitude, we praise You for Your faithfulness,
trusting in Your promises, and seeking Your guidance and direction, as we
remain steadfast in faith. We thank You for endowing us with the spirit of
endurance to wait patiently on You, Lord. As the farmers waited on their crops
to yield their harvest may we, O Lord, exercise the same patience in our
spiritual well-being. Father, stretch forth Your righteous right hand towards
those whose hopes are fading and grant them the gift of patience to wait
without becoming weary or discouraged. In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we
pray. Amen.
Wishing you strength to carry on. 💪💕🙏
