Waiting Cultivates Patience

Good morning

Scripture reading: Psalms 130

Worship song: I Will Wait for You

Meditation:

The Bible is rich with stories demonstrating God's faithfulness to his promises, revealing how and when they were accomplished. The biblical accounts of Abraham, Sarah, Hannah, and Joseph illustrate how God's promises unfold over time, through testing, and in ways that are often unexpected. While the divine promise took many years to materialize for these individuals, their stories demonstrate God's enduring faithfulness. Patience is a virtue that is built over time as a result of waiting for a promise to be fulfilled. However, not everyone has the gift of waiting patiently.

Habakkuk 1:1-2 highlights the prophet's frustration and confusion over the delay of God's judgment, as he witnessed widespread violence and injustice, leading him to question why God seems unmoved by his desperate cries for divine intervention. Like the Prophet Habakkuk, we can become impatient and frustrated while waiting for promised change. However, God's timing is perfect and His promises are certain. By completely trusting and relying on Him, we show that we are entirely dependent on His guidance.

The Psalmist reminds us to have unwavering faith in God's character and to wait with patience, confident that his promises will be fulfilled in his time. Waiting builds our faith, confidence, and trust in God. God's timing is perfect, so wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and he will strengthen and exalt you.

Let us pray:

Most gracious Father, we acknowledge your sovereignty and dominion power. We rely on you to strengthen us to soar on wings like eagles, run and not become weary, and walk and not faint. Lord, in our weakness and discouragement, strengthen our faith so we may always trust your perfect plan. Almighty God, grant us courage to wait with patience, develop a strong resilience, persevere to the end while trusting your promise and timing. Calm our minds and help us to surrender our anxiety to you. Lord, we trust in Your infinite patience and depend on You to grant us our desire as we align our hearts with Your will. Father, many are the challenges we encounter, but we trust you, Almighty God, to deliver us from the enemy's plans and guide our every step in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wishing you an awesome day. 💕🙏🙌

  1. Waiting is like a heavy weight that we want to throw down and it won't go down. Waiting is also serving without tips or reward it is not coming forth but it is forthcoming. If we can find comfort in the company of others or friends we can find solace and courage. There is no other way but to wait on the Lord, whether He is near or far. Waiting will yield great results. Blessings 🙏💪🙏🙏
