Bloodline Repentance

Meditation:

    The genealogy of Jesus Christ's human ancestry recorded in Matthew includes those whose lifestyle was characterized by acts of immorality, unholy living, and dishonorable conduct. Jesus did not descend from a perfect, holy human race, he entered a race that was broken, defiled by sin, and in need of a redeemer. His ancestors were not solely righteous, but defined by imperfections. The family tree features stories highlighting a lineage of sinners rather than purely righteous prominent figures. 

    Based on the Biblical accounts in the books of the Kings and Chronicles many of Jesus ancestors in the royal bloodline of Judah were worshipping pagan gods, engaged in witchcraft, blood sacrifice, divination, enchantments, and trusting unfamiliar spirits. These acts are an abomination unto the Lord and must be broken. Today, our generations are still engaged in these rituals, and therefore we must repent and break these curses. The weeping prophet lamented in Lamentations 5:7 that the impact of sin is where a nation’s current crises are rooted in the choices and actions of previous generations. 

    Sinful patterns are passed down from one generation to another but believers can be redeemed from these patterns through Jesus' sacrifice. Generational cycles can be broken through repentance, faith, surrender, submission, and obedience to God.

Let us pray:

    Everlasting Father, your grace is sufficient for us for your strength is made perfect in our weakness. We gladly surrender all our iniquities and transgressions to you, Almighty God, knowing that for this reason you paid the ransom to pardon and redeem us. Almighty God, forgive our ignorance and lock every portal door we have opened to evil. Merciful Father, I stand in the gap and repent of all sins, disobedience, rituals,  transgressions, iniquities, and rebellious behavior known and unknown, on behalf of myself and my ancestors. I renounce the generational sins of immorality, idolatry, fornication, sinful indulgence, and every evil imagination of the heart. I break the legal rights given to the enemy to control me, my family, their children, and the generations to come. I shatter every covenant and destroyed the altars that were erected for ungodly worship. I deem null and void the legal claims of all curses, and I declare that my family and I are disconnected from ancestral dysfunction. I denounce every demonic agreement made by ancestors and cancel the authority of familiar spirits. I announce our liberty from oppressions, demonic forces, and schemes of the forces of evil. Satan has no legality over us. Wash and cleanse my entire family tree, O God, uproot spiritual curses and destroy every covenant made with the enemy in Jesus' name. Amen.
