Breaking Protocol

Good morning

Scripture reading: St. John 5: 1-9

Worship song: Oh It Is Jesus

Meditation:

At the Pool of Bethesda, a large crowd of individuals with disabilities gathered, seeking healing through its water. They believed that when the water was periodically stirred, the first person to enter would be restored. However, this belief fostered a system favoring the swift and the fastest and the able over those most helpless.

In this environment of despair, a man who had been an invalid for 38 years was confined by his limitations and the helplessness of those around him. When Jesus encountered him, he disregarded the popular belief about the water and extended immediate grace, commanding the man to rise, take up his mat, and walk.

This narrative exemplified that our salvation originates from the Lord, not from rituals or human endeavors, and that our circumstances do not constrain God's Omnipotent power. Jesus demonstrated compassion and restored the man's wholeness, thereby affirming that God's power is unrestricted by our situations or human limitations. This serves as a lesson that even in our moments of utmost helplessness, our faith in Jesus provides our true strength.

Let us pray:

Blessed redeemer, wonderful Savior, Lord, You are victorious, superior in splendor, gracious and merciful, and matchless in power. You are God all by yourself. Compassionate Lord, we seek no other god but You, for divine help, breakthrough, guidance, healing, and deliverance. Although we face many struggles, we are confident, O God, that You will deliver us from them all. Holy Father, we come to You in our weakness, burdened by infirmities. Like the man waiting by the pool, we have no one but You to turn to. We lift our eyes to You, Mighty God, knowing that all our help comes from You alone. Father, as we seek your help, grant us courage and the spirit of patience to wait diligently for You to heal our brokenness through Jesus Christ, our Advocate. Amen.

Wishing you a blessed day. 💗🙌🙏
